Title: A SAD POLEMIC WAITING TO HAPPEN...?
Post by: archos on April 29, 2016, 10:36
I am hearing that koffi has been denied access to funerals by  papa's family because he went too far with his attacks to his vieux in the past, exactly like koffi and the late bokul were forbidden to participate in kester's funerals, so koffi went to togo and burkina faso for concerts as has been confirmed by rocky blanchard the chef d'orchestre so it already started polemic on some social network about the fact koffi should have cancelled it no matter what... anyway, i hope this situation will be solved or if its not solved, that koffi will have the same dignity papa wemba had when denied participation in kester's funerals,he did a quiet funeral in molokai and did not make shock interviews about it

Papa Wemba's family just like Kester's family is being unreasonable. I can't blame Koffi for his frustration and deciding to honour his concert contracts in West Africa instead,am sure he had those contracts already and put them aside to attend the funeral.

indeed hopefully it is solved, there is still time,we do not need another "event" in such a big event,so hopefully koffi will be there
one thing which makes me a bit positive is that he went to papa's house  and was received
other than that, we congolese people just cant have classy funerals, between the fans praising the musicians who (hopefully lol) are not there for buzz, journalists telling their cameramen to film the shoes of this or that leader, rivalry between areas, policemen who are too agressive....Also i am hearing from quite reliable people that some musicians have already received money for their participation in funerals

Yeah,it will be sad if Mopao and anyone else is stopped from attending just because of silly polemic.

i have been told from kin that the person blocking koffi's presence is no other than ya jossart who apparently told to authorities he would not accept being on the plane which went to abidjan to get papa's body if koffi is maintained on that list

Why is there so much of hate towards him is like everybody wants to avoid at all cost even the late papa wemba damn I don't know for Koffi anymore, sometimes I feel sorry for him how nobody wants anything to do with him but it is what it is the past probably determined this

I've noted Koffi's absence from the events thus far even though he was eager to be there for Wemba.

This is just utter nonsense and typical African mentality. If anything all of these guys, including Ekumani, went very far in the past with attacks during polemics (especially 1999-2001). None of them would sit and allow themselves to be insulted.

Folks like Ya Jossart need to realize we grow and move on from our past mistakes, especially in time of crisis. His problem is that he has a temper and easily gets jealous.

indeed and if i was koffi i would now try my best to act like wemba himself started to act more and more in his last years, becoming a much respected figure among younger guys through his behavior, and koffi is well capable of that,if you re watch the videos of when he was getting on with jb  or the koffi of maisha park you would not believe the same man is capable  to have been doing that "prison thing" where its just about money you are ready to corrupt guys with on employees of his rivals
i watched an interview of sankara saying  he had never ever seen werra crying this much, him and werra were in a car to  welcome papa's body but werra could not stop crying they tried everything but he just could not calm down, his relationship with papa wemba had become so close that that papa actually allowed him to receive from a studio a hard disk of  one of papa's recent records and bring it to kin which werra did  and that  they had something planned together the day after papa was meant to return
few years ago everybody thought papa and werra hated each other to death because of how papa sided with jb
also i said koffi should to become like papa became because  we use to say papa had influence in a lot of group splits, he still had it a bit in recent years but very differently, he actually gave the guys who wanted to leave groups a lot of positive advice for their career, the last example being heritier... and as a result of a different attitude papa became less and less into controversy

Dumb, who is Nyoka Longo to say that and if Koffi can't go to the funeral then why stay in Kinshasa while he can go make money elsewhere.

He could be the biological father and still wouldn't have the right to do that, Koffi is a grown man.

poor jossart had nothing to do with it he was made a perfect scapegoat for being papa's best friend, it was indeed family which wants to respect papa's last words towards koffi which were that he did way too much harm so the best thing was to completely ignore each other, but i hear there are attempts of reconciliation going on underground

If it happens that Koffi does not attend Papa's funeral then it will injure Papa's family and Congo at large abroad.

Not really, people understand the pain Koffi put Papa Wemba through so it will be a temporary setback, remember it happened to Wemba and Koffi too when King Kester died, people forgot about it soon as they know mourners are emotional so are capable of making irrational decisions. Koffi was not important in Wemba's life but it is still regrettable that he has been barred, hope the family changes its mind however now with Koffi's father's death,it may be that Koffi will concentrate on his own father's funeral arrangements since Wemba's is literally a State funeral.

They all need to leave Koffi alone...the man has done nothing wrong but always gets bad publicity regardless of what he does....they all need to acknowledge he's the only living legend with classics to back it up we have left....so show appreciation to the man.

Seems Papa Wemba was an angel and Koffi is the devil

Nobody normal would say that (lol you and JV kill me with your short and direct posts )  but we  must admit its very sad that the three main men of clan viva will never have been in position to honour properly each other at funerals
as for the remaining artists,i might surprise you maybe but if  what kofficentral's manager said is true, the other artists than koffi deserve blame,he said hr sent for koffi text messages to all musicians to reunite and discuss over organization but apparently nobody replied, its about time our artists forget their pride a bit

JV,skills cannot override character. Therefore, having produced classics or being the ever living legend does not come to play here. This is about our relationship to other humans like us,around us. Beyond the fame and name,we are still humans so our relationships matter.
Everybody has got to sheath his or her sword now and embrace peace. We have all got our flaws but what makes us reasonable is the ability to know we have got flaws and getting to work on them to become better people.
Papa's people have not handled this well,if i may say. Papa was hurt by some people and all that. He too would have hurt some people too while he was here. Now,he is gone, people still want to relive the past and stay in it. That ain't too nice. Forgiveness is release. Let them all forgive one another and move on please.

Archos this is a funeral and in our African way people should behave with honour and respect. It is always time to forget old wrongs and mourn with dignity but I just read your reply to the member who asked about polemics( how they are created and exploited by artists) and i doubt if that is gonna happen

Wait so why were Wemba and Koffi not allowed at Kester's funeral?
Title: Re: A SAD POLEMIC WAITING TO HAPPEN...?

Yes they were not welcome at all, reddy amisi who was going there informed them of a big plan to humiliate them should they come,so koffi went  to perform for president mugabe and papa wemba did a quiet funeral at home and at village molokai until 40 days after funerals

Sad stuff indeed. The vengeful family members always have the upper hand in these situations. Luambo Makiadi's funeral had a similar situation, especially with politicians of the time. Can't really blame Koffi, who did his job instead or Wemba, who did not like confrontations.

I think the only funeral for a big star that occurred relatively cleanly with little malice was Seigneur Ley's.

How were they going to humiliate them? And why do that at a time of mourning? I'm sure Koffi and Wemba wanted to mourn with the rest.
