My favorite QL member after the first generation left read about his story on here, so sad and unfortunate cause his voice was so unique one of a kind...

ahhhh mustapha mawa trop vraiment had everything almost to become a proper star, may he rest in peace
I’ve always said Mustapha will always be one of the biggest what ifs in that generation, he had the looks, voice, style and just needed a bit better dancing skills to be THAT GUY. He could’ve easily been Fally’s rival in the group, and was a perfect replacement for Babia, because Quartier latin suffered big time in the chorus section after he left. I wish he stayed in the group longer he left too early, it was a waste for him to go to Academia even though he had fantastic vocals in Viagra, just imagine if he participated in Effrakata.

Exactly,i was thinking about the solos of bercy when i said almost everything it showed that he was not a natural dancer,if he had it he really would have the full package
its really a shame that all went downhill for so long
his story reminds me of late cameroonian footballer modeste mbami who also died of heart attack weeks ago, could have reached the absolute top in clubs after getting a taste of it in psg then unfortunately kept going down and down and died isolated without most of his friends and even his wife
He improved with his dancing when he joined Academia, he was decent following the choreography. I wonder if his ex colleagues will acknowledge him because apparently very few of them didn’t see him anymore because he completely disappeared from the radar, even Depitcho who was close to him in Latino said in an interview during the pandemic that if Mustapha is watching to get in contact with him because it has been so long since he heard from him.

What made Mustapha get into issues he had the last years ? Because when he came in Paris all girls were running behind him and according to former musicians of QL, he first didnt used to drink or smoke.
Sadly I don’t think we’ll ever know because even before no one ever explained why he left Quartier Latin so suddenly. Unless with typical Congolese interviews someone will come forward and spill secrets. His downfall is probably one of the most brutal I’ve seen in Congolese music because of the natural talent he had, even Babia’s and Adjani’s downfalls were nowhere near as bad as this, because Mustapha completely lost his voice and wasnt normal anymore and he wasn’t even making sense. Ahhh this makes me too sad, I was a fan of his.

WTF who would make up such a rumour? @wenge1995 you were right about it being a dirty rumour. It’s nice that Koffi, Sam Tshintu and Jordan Kusa called to assist with the funeral. But I’m happy he’s still alive

I had my suspicions that Mustapha is still with us, because no one from QL posted anything like they did for Lebou and Ocean when they passed away. But I can understand how some people can assume the worst to be true, Mustapha is deep in addiction or mental illness.

@CM PRINCE I don't know why people do that, it can make family members and friends panic with sad news like that
