For a long time it was studio Veve. But not everybody could record there. So many artists preferring to cross the Congo-river to record at at Studio IAD in Brazzaville (at soon would be victim of lootings in the mid 90s). After fall of Editions Veve there wasn't any modern studio anymore in Kinshasa. All artists preferring to do their recordings in Europe, unless they could afford a mobile studio and bring it to Kinshasa to record it in one few studio's (Studio Bobongo, RNTC 2 which would become Studio Ndiaye and Studio Meko) who were there. From 2005 the best studio became Studio Ndiaye directed by JP Kyungu, him having finally the materials, althought the studio not being on the level of those in Europe. Many artists starting to record a big part of their albums, EPs, generique singles there. From 2005, there wasn't any album anymore that was recorded for 100% or 90% in Europe except the first two of Fally and the first one of Ferre. Most were for the majority done in Kinshasa.
Everybody recorded at Studio Ndiaye until 2010 or 2011, when I think a part JB's generique of Soyons Serieux leaked on internet, small artists recording there seeing their cri's suddenly ending up in generiques of Werrason, Koffi before them releasing it, Rumors of Werrason having bought the studio from Monsieur Ndiaye and rivals not feeling comfortable anymore, etc. Some preferring from then to record at mediocre studios, or doing a part in Kinshasa and reworking it with session artists in Europe, because of visa problems and the combattant phenomena appearing.
