Koffi messed up big time, he was still able to achieve great success after those two had left, but who know's what could've happened.

The thing that made QL so great back then is that it was a new groups with teenage singers like Suzuki & Willy Bula, but the pillar of the leadership and artistic direction came from expereinced guys like Beniko, Do Akongo, & Prof Didace Iboula. Those guys also had freedom to work as session artists as well.... well until Beniko's album in 1999 with Somono & Bouro when they left QL and also Kester.

Koffi messed up big time, he was still able to achieve great success after those two had left, but who know's what could've happened.

Kinda like Makaba & BCBG

Random question - was Makenga Aladji the one who sounded a bit like Evoloko/Wemba? Don't remember hearing him sing by himself

No, that's  Laudy Demingongo who went later to Zaiko and sung on the Sans Issue-album. He voice was similair like that of Luciana Demingongo.

Aladji's voice was more bass. He has some vocals in Magie & Pas de Faux Pas. He sounded a little bit like Quetin Moyascko of Extra Musica.

Are you sure? Because he has the same voice of sam’s vocals on magie, mansouri & sylvekou.
I thought aladji only made 1 vocal in the album, in the track magie.

I'm pretty sure Sam was sidelided due to baccalaureate testing during the recording period of Magie, therefore he vocals we done by others. Koffi interpreted Shambuyi out of respect for "President Sam" when discovered in Flash Musica... where he was president of that group.

He was slowly recruited in QL since then Koffi used a limited amount of singers for recording and touring.
