Simplice Ngoma Samba aka Papy Bastin,maboulango,jet li.... was born on 17th of march in 1975 in the city of makabana in congo brazzaville
he goes to brazzaville with his family and is a brilliant student,at the age of 14 he starts interpreting songs of kester emeneya,papa wemba,pepe kallé  at school and two years later his passion for music grows and he starts singing in street groups and the more times goes on the more he believes he can become a professional musician
when he finishes high school aged 19 he is allowed by his parents to release his first song "etudiant" talking about how important school is for a human being
this song earns him revelation of the year award,he starts university while joining a group of teenagers who were imitating victoria eleison of his idol king kester,the group was named "gloria ecerta"
in the same year,he leaves and joins the group folk stars whose leader just died and discovers for the first time professional instruments alongside the two leaders of the group jules kibens and zulema and during his 8 months in the group improve his writing skills with their help as he vows to write all his songs instead of buying
after his 8 months in the group,he decides to try his luck with  his own group but civil war forces him to abandon rehearsals and eventually leave brazzaville
 he chooses to go to the second capital of congo which is pointe noire,and where trouble was minimal and he restarts his group with new musicians and starts preparing an album and is reputation is growing as he interprets his songs at concerts and sometimes in nightclubs
then he is detected by extra musica's espe bass for who he starts writing some songs with the hope of joining the group on day
 he is accepted in the group after a test in 1999 when he arrives in extra musica,he sings like kester,walks like kester,has the same haircuts...but roga roga advises him to create his own identity and gives him all cds of wenge musica and bcbg so thathe could emulate jb mpiana and then mix it with a bit of kester and also a big part of himself so that he is not limited to being a copycat
he then accepts roga's advice and works on his image and voice and participates in recording of album shalai where he offers songs to espe bass and roga roga (laissez passer for example)
then in album trop c'est trop,he offers song gambala to ramatoulaye and three years later he gives him again a song which is fondation muller
slowly but surely,he becomes a key member and wants bigger responsabilities and opportunities,and especially releasing songs to his name instead of them being credited to leaders,who also picked longer serving musicians in the group like herman or doudou copa to be vocal lead in those songs
after album obligatoire,tension is too big in the group with many guys fed up of roga roga's self centered policy for the group and few months after doudou copa leaves,papy bastin and some colleagues ponder decision of leaving the group together
 roga roga meanwhile recruits musicians with more or less similar profiles to those musicians who are in open conflict with him and starts humiliating some of those guys with the new musicians who were interpreting their parts while they were still around
the plan of leaving to form a band finally happens on 16th of december 2005 at 4.16 pm (16heures,16 minutes in french)
singers kerson saddam,rossen superman,oxygene who is the president of the group which is named  Universal Zangul while bastin is chef d'orchestre,they are also with keyboard player baudouin missapi and atalaku typhoide tarzan
they record together album tapis rouge (red carpet in english) and bastin releases his first two official songs tout à coup and la vie onongo,in the song c'est dejà fait he attacks indirectly roga roga singing "it was the 16th of december at 4.16 pm,we escaped from slavery and submission towards the so called King"
their album is quite succesful in congo brazza and in some african countries aswell and they establish themselves as a strong rival to roga roga's extra musica
their success open them doors of sponsorship as they are contacted by primus beer but primus are told by roga roga if they join he leaves and finally they only collaborate sometimes in concerts but not a proper contract
 meanwhile they start preparing their second album conjugaison but leader of the group oxygene who apart his career of musician was working for police even in extra musica days is sent to cameroon for two years of training
they agreed album would be released when oxygene returns but bastin decides to leave the group in 2007 and go solo
one year later he releases his first album "bravo" which is well appreciated by fans and it allows him to tour in some african countries with his group
but since his producer is not a professional producer but rather a friend who just wanted to support him, on long term it becomes difficult to promote album let alone finish the works of  his second album which he starts preparing straight after first one
6 years after in 2014,he finally release voLUME 1 of his album " notez bien" featuring ferré chair de poule,didier lacoste,eboa lotin,his friend doudou copa,mbuta likasu

Wow! Thank you archos. So Laissez passer was Bastin's composition? I don't understand how these leaders are that powerful even after composing that song he could not be given the sole vocal responsibility to do the song,in fact he was just given a line to do. Again it boils down to what DJ SLY said, Charisma! I think that is what he lacks. Roga had seen the weakness of his colleagues and knew their individual strength and that is why he sent them parking and yes he was right as evident today no one of them was good enough to make it big. yes it was bastin's song which he was already singing in nightclubs before joining extra
you know leaders often do that with musicians who are yet to become stars and who can write songs,they give songs and slowly leaders gives them opportunites to shine but it takes time before they can release songs to their own name
it was not really a matter of weakness but the fact they were contesting his extreme authority,and if none of extra musica clan has done very good its also due to roga having relationship with all authorities in congo,in any area you want,so those guys lack support from those powerful politicians
its actually one of the reasons of their troublesome relationship within the clan,roga roga is from the same ethnic group as  president and gets massive favour from him and the whole system around him while other guys are abandoned to themselves

by the way,just noticed that like in wenge,the guys have maximum 5 years difference between them

they all have talent but roga is by very very very very far more supported in the country so its only normal him being ahead
