Now that the two albums are out and either one has got its own unique style. For Fally's fans it is like their arc rival Ferre is hitting it below the belt and vise versa-What is the way forward for these two great artists?

i don't understand why they can not exist at the same time. this question is not necessarily directed at you oj. this has just been on my mind. they both fill unique places in the landscape of congolese music. one kind of shaping themselves in the shadow of the more 'traditional' forefathers (ferre) and one who is determined to make congolese music that appeals to a wide range of people and not in a cheap way (fally). when i read comments under their videos on youtube there is always a heated debate between the two factions of fans that is reduced to the trading of insults (this isn't unique to fally and ferre fans i'm just saying)e. i like both artists a whole lot. i haven't had a chance to hear the whole boite noir yet though i look forward to it. from what i've heard so far i am excited to hear the rest.

power kosa leka is very good to me. it has some boring songs here and there but for me every fally album has a few songs i just don't like for whatever reason. he has so many songs on the album that a fally ipupa fan would be hard pressed to be dissatisfied with this effort.

anyway i understand comparison and competition is natural i just hope that these matters can be discussed with civility. i believe one can disagree passionately without trying to hurt another's feelings or argue to the point of being angry. that's my two cents.

Fally and Ferre has now released 3 solo albums each and they have made it clear from their music, they do not do the same style so it doesn't make sense to keep comparing them.

It is just folly to compare the two,i have finally realised that it doesn't make sense to compare the two musicians because their styles are completely different even their respective songs in Quartier Latin and Maison Mere tell the story.

Pharmacien was well arranged, the tempo was okay and at least their was some solo guitar. Insecticide was just a pure ballad, almost sounding like a film soundtrack and that's how Ferre has continued with his music, just one or two rhythms at the same tempo, can be monotonous but if you hear the vocals, well executed and the lyrics are very good.

But Sly this kind of music has a limit at times......There is also the element of wear and tear. I do think that group acts are a lot more better and safe more than this solo shows where if a thing fail then it is obvious.

That's right. These guys would have been perfect had they passed through Viva because Papa Wemba is known to push his musicians to reach their full potential,he just doesn't want any of his musicians to just buy a song and record it, Papa Wemba likes to dig deeper and analyse the whole song before it can be recorded. These chaps like Ferre and Fally,i don't think they really analyse and it's made worse by the fact that they just buy songs.
