Is there any way we can get sebenes back in this new decade? I hope Congolese music makes a strong statement this decade. Not just generiques but how Congolese music was back in the early 90s and 2000s.

Anyone know what artists we should watch out for a release? I know Viva La Musica has an album promised this April.

I thoughts the same yesterday
Those rhumbas + sebene were amazing (fontaine, désespoir, walay danico, svp mbey, binda bass anissa among others)
I think, we just have to accept that our « era » ended unfortunately.
Even the arrangements, the drum sounds are not the same no more.
About this I have a question, who’s the first artist to work with phillipe guez?
Where are guys like him or maika munan theses days?
We should give them more credits.

This will also mark 20 years of "TH", "Force De Frappe" and other albums released in 2000! And groundbreaking Bercy concerts from Koffi & Werra!

Recently the only band you can surely expect thing like that is Zaiko.  If others wants to follow, well, we'll see
