What do Congolese normally bet on? Like sports or just traditional gambling.

What a femmine trait to have, gossiping,  like you are som 15 year old Woman Denis Lasie, how is a man of God talking about something that should be private? Anyway I don't think is due to additional but more to Kindoki, I bet that when you get into those spiritual games you stop to think logically, with that said after Dindo Yogo and Emeneya and Papa Wemba to some extent another great artist who won't leave anything to their children, artists and african people in general needs to think about the future, stop being so generous with deadbeat family members and friends who think that they are entitled to my wealth cause they knew me when I was a kid or we share the same blood and start ti be selfish and think about themselves and their kids only

Lol, doesn't has anything to do with kindoki. Dindo Yogo after Macchi and Etumba na Ngwaka, spent was most of the time asemployer when he had fame (Viva la Musica, Langa Langa Stars and Zaiko Langa Langa). Back than music in Zaire wasn't lucratrive like today. It were the recordlabels who were getting most of the money. Bandleaders themselves didn't had their own house, they were all renting and some even still living at their familyhouses. Only Franco and Tabu Ley were rich, but that was mostly because they were helped by Mobutu just to be on the same level like artists abroad and them also being able to do some businesses with it outside music.

Dindo after leaving Zaiko tried a solo-career but it didn't work, so he decided to settle in Europe. By staying in Europe while not having succes you will not go anywhere financially. After some years tried once again to launch his solo-career in Kinshasa, but it failed again. After some time in Europe, he went back to Kinshasa and its there where he died. Artists were getting better money in Kinshasa than nowadays through concerts because of people living well, back than but it wasn't enough to live on the same level like the fame they had and they were not going to Europe often like today. Also in Europe you didn't had alot of Congolese people and mabanga was rare.

Both Papa Wemba and King Kester Emeneya didn't had anything special when having crazy succes during their prime in the 70s and 80s. Wemba was still living in Molokai until he went to settle in France back in 1987 (If I remember he got a villa through Castel Beer after performing twice at Stade 24 Novembre, but his base was still in Molokai). Emeneya was lucky to get a villa through tabbaco company Okapi just before settle in Europe, but didn't had anything special. Back than artists were singing for their friends and people close to them for free, or just expensive two jackets.

Its from the mid 90s that most artists started to sell songs due to the high demand from people in Europe and also Bana Lunda. Bandleaders also entering the ngulu-business which made them get more money. The Congolese diaspora that kept growing, made earn also more money in concerts and them also being able to perform at big halls. Congolese people in Europe not being happy the way bandleaders were living in Kinshasa and buying cars for them, giving them alot of gifts, etc. Its because of Wenge Musica 4x4 and Koffi that bandleaders started to move to Ma Campagne. Papa Wemba started to get proper money when he started to go world-music and later on those big tours Europe tours with Nouvelle Ecriture. But he spent most money on Sape which is his own choice. It wasn't a big issue, because he children he had with Amazone were well raised in Europe and had a normal life. Emeneya wasn't getting alot of money like his friend Koffi and his liltle brothers of Wenge, because he had alot of difficulties the most of the time when he decided to do a comeback. Most money came from other businesses and he apprently slowly entered the diamond-business through his friend Didi Kinuani. Most of the money he was spending went to the construction of Maison Blanche to prove Koffi and Clan Wenge a point.

The guys who were lucky and fought very hard were Koffi Olomidé, JB Mpiana and Werrason
