There's nothing here, Didier Lacoste is just bitter that Ferre stole his soloist Hadji Solo and it's also a fact that Lacoste though talented and much older than Ferre always remains in the shadow of Ferre.
At this moment in time, there is no singer in Congo who is doing what Ferre is doing, Ferre is a fantastic singer and though some of his songs are monotonous(sound the same) he has built himself a massive fanbase within a very short space of time, Ferre can only be compared to Fally where success as a new entrant is concerned,he's giving competition  bigger stars like JB and Werra so whatever Lacost says is just utter bollocks, this Didier Lacoste and may others from Maison Mere and other bands are just struggling to make it big, they can't just figure out why Ferre is successful but they are forgetting that Ferre is no ordinary singer.

The frustrating thing which fans are grappling with, is the way our new generation is producing music. I for one believe that music should be universal and a uniting factor whether it's understood or not. The sin of ferre is that he wants only to make lingala speakers happy, leaving out those that don't understand and who contribute highly to making Congolese music popular all over the world. He will be only remembered by lingala speakers only which is sad. He is still young so why not change his ways, play music for all by stopping monotony, spice his music with more sebenes, add more solo guitar, more drum sound in music etc. That acoustic that dominates with his voice for 100% of songs is not helping at all.

He's said time and again even last week he said the same thing.that he does not want to mess with Congolese music, those who want to mix it or spice it with other shit, let them do it, he'll stick to rhumba because that's what he knows. He also says on his album he doesn't want to feature foreign musicians,he features on their albums because they request him to do so. He is happy with what he's doing and so are we his fans, please stick to listening to Wazekwa and Fally, those of us who love Ferre's style swear to stick to him, thank you!

Sly, you have to realize that for you to be a true follower of gola, you have to accept his flaws and pray you meet him to correct his mistakes. Being a hard hearted fan will not help. Who in my statement indicated that we want ferre to spice with foreign music? What I meant is he should be adding the melodies derived from playing key instruments played by his mentors like lutumba, Franco and now wenge etc. Were on earth would you get a good rhumba song without a sebene? Rally ipupa, with his bad name tag 'foreign ' at least plays sebenes both on slows and other fast songs....come on, you know what I am talking about: I mean vita imana from WMM? Does that ring a bell?

Am not a hard hearted fan as you put it, I just wonder why you bother with him,it's just like arsenal fans always following what is happening at Manchester United and trying to suggest what Man U needs to do in order to stay on top yet Man U is always on top and their team arsenal is always trying to be number 3 o4the or 4,this is the same with Ferre and Fally, it is very clear that Ferre is more talented but Fally's fans who know this is a fact want to convince us Ferre's fans that Fally is better.

I don't know if you read my comments, it's only a couple of days ago when I stated that It's good that Ferre's artistic Director's phone number was disclosed at one interview whose video archos posted so I said I need to talk to him and advise him where the band needs to adjust in order that Ferre can be perfect through and through and I mentioned the weaknesses I find in Ferre, I am very open about that however even with the same weaknesses, Ferre still manages to outshine his competitors and his fanbase is growing, his last album has sold thousands of copies yet people here are saying it's a flop, how? The album is being played everywhere. Go to one facebook forum on facebook called ''Yekola Lingala'' and see the comments and rating there from Congolese and non Congolese people you'll be surprised,Ferre is rated very highly though you think he's crap.
