One of the best singers Koffi Olomide has ever had. I like this guy's voice and how he plays with it naturally,he reminds me of the old Josky Kiambukuta. He was ignored simply because he treated Cindy like his young sister but Koffi didn't see it that way! ;D

even before cindy came in the picture he was there since 2002 and wasn't used until 2005 for longitima which was a short vocal and he wasn't taken on tours till after fally and co left

Yes you're right, i guess it's probably his way of singing which was not in line with the kind of music Koffi has started doing. Asso's music would have been best suited for songs like Ngobila ,proper rhumba to be precise not the R&B tcha tcho Koffi did with the likes of Fally and Bouro.

give him a chance, but i feel for guys like him who weren't taken to Europe on tours with others being picked over them then when those others get to Europe they decide to stay and not come back i'd be pissed if i was one of them singers that had to stay behind and someone took my spot and ended up not coming back with the group

The audio is rough yes because he is probably in a cheap studio however we have enough evidence that the guy is a very good singer, all he needs is time to release his album then we can judge him but so far from the video i posted am quite impressed, those extracts have already convinced me that he's a star in the making, yes,he might not reach the level of Fally and Ferre were stardom is concerned but his music will touch the many who love pure rhumba and good vocal arrangement.

Its always funny how people change opinion. The height of subjective analysis is when some bloggers always find an excuse to label singers bad when they are with Koffi or Werrason. The moment they bolt out they become the best new thing. I also noticed people say how they loved Nicodem when he was with Ferre but the moment he joined Werra he became a bogus singer. Just the same way when a musician leaves Koffi or Werra it is not the fault of the singer but Koffi or Werra. But when a singer leaves lets say Fally or Adolph to join maybe Koffi it is not the mistake of the band leader but Koffi still. So if a musician leaves Koffi or Werra we blame Koffi/Werra.When a musician joins them it is still their fault. How is that for double standards?

What exactly are you trying to say?
Personally i've always known that the likes of Asso, Bouro, Sam Tshintu and many others who were with Koffi are good singers. Nicodem was just an average singer in Ferre's band and remains so but he was trusted having joined the band from inception.

The issue of departures is different so i don't know how you're linking it to whatever you're trying to say. It is not a hidden fact that Koffi and Werrason always solicit for musicians from their rivals to join, it's not about the skills of those musicians they steal ,it's about pissing off and trying to destabilise their opponents, that's how Koffi and Werrason have survived in music and they remain on top, they love controversy.

Sly, I was just making an observation on our subjective selves. Some of us are very rigid in their hate that we cannot see anything good on the part of those we dislike. Away from that, I have always wondered what happened to Academia with all the promise they held!!! They have all but disappeared. At least Generation Bercy are still giving us some things to keep us going. Finally on your point about departures, poaching of personnel from rivals is an old age practice in the corporate world, in soccer and in music. To me I look at it differently. If my rival came to steal my employee, I would happily give it to them Adolphe style. I would be better off without their betrayal and consider them good riddance. In any case these people who allow themselves to be poached never learn from those poached and dumped before them.DRC is so full of talent if Koffi poached from me I would simply replace the departing traitor. The Congolese musicians who lose their musicians to Koffi/Werraseem to enjoy the tag and pull that is why they make a big deal of the poaching.

There's a lot of talent in Congo quite alright but it takes time and effort to discover it and it's annoying when you discover good things and others just come and take and claim to be "grand formateurs"

Adolphe always complains but he has little control because he lacks the financial capacity to fight the likes of Koffi and Werra who always steal from him.

That 'grand formateur' jibe.Hahaha. He used to be one alright getting the likes of Adjani,Bonjack,Oliviera etc. But recent events show he is not one anymore. For Mopao his notoriety is legendary but somehow am still looking forward to 13eme Apotre.
