I'am seeing on this moment Maison Mère-fans arguing against Fally fans on social media. Maison Mère coming with screenshots and videos about Werrason having performed multiple times at Stade Massamba-Debat and Fally Ipupa saying that those concerts were never on Werra's name because of being festivals and sportevents.

Looking back on it, Fally fans have a point. Because most events were indeed sportevents and festivals. Werrason performed there 7 times and 6/7 of times it was not really on his name. The first time was in 1999 just a weeks after having done his first Stade des Martyrs when coming back from Europe. It was not a huge succes, there was heavy rain and the stadium was empty. On the same moment Academia Quartier Latin were performing at a packed Palais de Congres in Brazzaville. The second time was during the first edition of FESPAM summer 2001 which was a huge succes.

Seeing that Werrason was able to pull big crowds, politicians and sportorganisations were often making use of Werra's aura to get their national stadium packed. In 2002 just before Double Zenith Werrason was invited to perform there for Denis Sassou Nguesso's presidential campaign to get the stadium packed for his speech.

In 2003, there was a basketball-final in their stadium once again they invited Werrason. The full VHS "un envahisseur à CFA" used to be on Seben Total's youtube-channel but it deleted. A few months later he would perform at the same stadium for FESPAM

In 2006 there was a big final of atlethics or youth football. To get a packed stadium they need Werrason and his band to perform there

The last time was in 2010. Werrason was touring in Europe, but got an in invitation to perform at Stade Massamba Debat for a sport-final that took place in order to get packed stadium. He decided perform with Operation Dragon (Ile de Cambodge, Robinio Mundibu and co), only bringing Heritier Watanabe and Brigade with him from Europe. Extracts of this concerts used to be on youtube on Drigombaki's channel, but the channel got sadly closed.

That’s even a bit more of a flex in my opinion that you were so big that they called you to make sure the stadiums were full

Even in festivals you have an artist whom the promoters push forward as a headline artist. I think Werrason's still counts because they call him to ensure the Stade is full. And just the fact that they kept re-inviting him is reason enough to claim them concerts to his credit.

I wonder if local artists will try indirectly to sabotate the event, because if he fills their stadium it will be a humilation towards them and once again show total supremacy of music coming from Kinshasa toward their music.

Roga Roga for example announced in 2022 that he would perform there. To test the temparature with the hitsong Bokoko he went to perform at the stadium of Pointe Noire, but he wasn able to fill the stadium and those who are against them mocking him about that.
During an interview just after Fally's event at Stade des Martyrs, a journalist asked Roga why he wouldn't try to perform at Stade Massamba Debat. Roga then replying that he could plan a event there, but the question is if their population will be behind to support him ?The same for Extra Musica Nouvel Horizon. There were projects about planning an event at Stade Massamba Debat and to test it they went to perform at the stadium of Pointe Noire, but they weren't able to fill the stadium

This made me wonder if the original Extra Musica next to Fespam 2001 & 2003 ever performed there or just kept focusing on Palais des Congres and the small Stade Felix Eboube

Hmmm yeah

late King Kester Emenya deserve respect for having filled their national stadium twice on his name during the 1980s. There are people who say that when Emeneya being on his prime in the 80s, his impact in Brazzaville even bigger than the one in Kinshasa which why he kept paying tribute to them his whole career long

I noticed that Bana Brazza are not so enthusiastic about music and their musicians unlike Bana Kin so that's why probably non of their own artists could fill that Massamba Stade as you have pointed out. I remember one of the Brazza artistes complaining about how for people in Brazza they not into music but politics and an office job. Lol
