Congratulations to him. This illustrates something I always say on this forum. These artists produce works for particular audiences not necessarily what we want them to produce for our individual tastes. There is always a chorus on this forum over sebene and from me over rhumba. Every time an artist releases an album it's always this one is going to fail because it does not have sebene for me I always demand rhumba(in fact my particular personal kind to make it worse) yet these artists know that sometimes it is rhumba or urban music or crossover or coupe decalle that gets them the money. We always berate Fally for his world music albums because we want sebene from him. In my case, I always lambast him because I want rhumba but Fally knows it's the urban/world music that has cemented his GOAT status. On 'Dynastie' I really was mad with Ferre because he is today my rhumba king yet he only gave Marathon as the only strict rhumba song(in my book). Then here I see he has won an award because of the songs I didn't want on the album. Lesson time for me. I will still complain when I don't get enough rhumbas but I now have learned that what I want may not be what pays the artists and I expect a few disappointments here and there.

I really enjoyed Dynastie! But I think these albums need to actually add in what made Congolese music congolese. People still want to dance.

I always notice that here. Guys don't like rhumba as much as I do. As for Dynastie, I only have Ekoyebana and Marathon. The rest were not to my taste si I just gave them a pass but I came to realize a good number of people appreciate the urban/world/crossover music, you included. So I made my peace with that. I am really waiting for Dynastie 2 especially the one with Malage that i heard a snippet of on Facebook singing about Kadi Kadima or some name like that

Is Dynastie 2 supposed to be like Wenge MMM? I do miss a good sebene big time. These artists are giving us very little material to appreciate. How do you like Fallys rumbas?

The last one I really enjoyed, really really enjoyed was Cadenas. It is one of my all time best rhumba song. When I say my own type of rhumba it is a song like Cadenas. Liputa, Une Minute etc. In Cadenas and those earlier albums he sang his rhumbas with emotion and soul. Been missing i his songs lately. Clic Clac wasn't bad, Emeraude, Vincent Gomez as well, Anissa last part after the change de frequence just before Kalombo and Atele and Seyo the last part are listenable. A Flye, Humanisme, Canne a Sucre didn't really tug at my musical heartstrings. But Cadenas ohh boy that song is legend on my playlist.
