I think that Heritier, Fally, Ferre would with the right marketing do better than Koffi's Stade des Martyrs of 1999. But honestly don't see any difference with the public that came to Emeneya's concert. It's almost the same, only that the camera team didn't film behind the podium which was according to those who visited his show also empty.

You must know the way Doudou Adoula and Deo Brondo mocked Koffi for that when being interviewed by Zacharie Bababaswe. His friend Kester Emeneya keeping reminding people for years the way Mopao did mpiaka. Newpapers who became anti-koffi making multiple negative articles about it. Koffi himself couldn't sleep for days because of this. 30th March 2002 was liberation day for him after years of torture despite having filled Bercy and putting Parc des Princes on his agenda.

It's a shame that the VHS' of Koffi's biggest events in 1999 & 1998 (Abidjan '98 & '99, presentation Loi, Intercontinental '98 & '99, Cinemax '99, Madeleine '98, Bonne Année '99 and Stade des Martyrs) were produced by small labels. Now we can't find anything back on youtube expect those who were produced by Sonodisc and the label of his staff Conseil Executif.

Junior Mac Kenro and his team would learn from their mistakes and use the same tactic they used when producing Werrason at Stade des Martyrs in 2001 for Koffi's Stade des Martyrs of 2002.

Paul Mukendi also helping Koffi by giving the idea to become close to Werrason again (many people didn't know they were on cold for years). Koffi being welcomed by Werrason upon his return to Kinshasa, driving through Kinshasa with him and fans streets following the convoy. Koffi on his turn visiting Werrason during a public rehearsal at La Zamba Playa to ask for support and the following week Heritier & Bill promoting Koffi's show on tv. Werrason on his side giving him two busses for support. But Werrason ended up by getting disappointed, excepting that Koffi would praise alot on tv for his support and relation between both guys becoming worser because of people close to them claiming that Koffi was talking about him.

Babia should have joined Academia, do you think his career would have went further? So it seems Fally was one of the last recruited into QL, because Soleil, CNN, and Jordan came before him.

There was Fofo le Collegien who made his return to Quartier Latin after Fally came, Ocean joined later as well, guitarist Janvier Okota who didn't make it on the Bercy-list, atalaku Bizima Kondos and many many more who are unknown.

Of course, because Attentat was the last album were he sung on. He never sing in albums of Ql and Koffi again until Abacadabra where he had a small vocal of 10 sec. In Academia he would at least have sung on two albums. But Babia is just a mess, had a drugsproblem and didn't understand for years that Koffi didn't want him anymore, the same for Rocky Blanchard.

Babia should’ve joined Academia in 2000 because his vocals and Chorus in Attentat were top notch. He would’ve been like Suzuki and had a song to his name. I doubt he would’ve cared about the whole leadership thing under Ya Sham. But at the same time if he joined maybe Eric Menthe might not have had as much space as he did. I’m also sure if he did join Academia Koffi would’ve lured him back and give him proper spotlight again like he did to Modogo and Mboshi when they returned

I'm surprised Rocky Blanchard stayed for years without touring or participating on albums. Did he still get paid, even if left behind? Is he still with Koffi? I know he left for a brief moment to play with Zaiko and then Academia for 4 Coins Kandala, but I'm not sure if he returned.

I liked his style of playing bass, I wished he shared roles with Binda. Also, I wonder whatever happened to Ondoma Motema? He disappeared after being left behind in Kinshasa for Bercy, did he join another band?

It's crazy Koffi would leave him behind, but didn't he need strong tenors for QL? He had multiple opportunities; Babia, Mustapha, Papy Jah, and I could go on.

It is not crazy. Babia would surely run away. He already ran away in 1994 when they were in Geneva. He felt in love with a divorced woman, but after getted beaten by people of the wife's ex man, he wanted to go back to Quartier Latin. However, he was unlucky that the guys who had to bring him from Switserland to Paris had drugs in their cars. This made him spent some months in jail until getting bailed out by Koffi's recordlabel. Him becoming member of Modogo Gianfranco Ferre's band Place Vendome until meeting Koffi in Paris and living in Koffi's house of Paris until Quartier Latin returned for V12. During his time in Paris, Babia came in touch with wrong guys of his neighboorhood Ndjili who used sell drugs. Babia started from then to use cocaine and heroine. Koffi started to notice it when they came back to Kinshasa. Koffi was really dissapointed, because back then he was biggest star in QL. Like Eric Tutsi, he became not indisciplined, started to show up late at rehearshals, etc. As punishment Koffi left behind for the long Europe-tour of 1997.

Koffi tried to give Babia a second chance by bringing him to Olympia. But towards of the end of the tour he wasn't showing up in concerts anymore and ran away to live with a fan. If Koffi didn't send gangsters to kidnapp, he wouldn't return. Back in Kinshasa, he was often showing signs of an addicted person. Eric Tutsi who was totally clean after spending in a rehab when Quartier Latin were touring in Europe was displined, but Babia was often coming late to rehearshals. He even sold the mercedes in pieces for drugs and to pay his debts. First the rearview mirrors, then the windscreen wipers, after the wheels, etc. This all made Koffi prefer to bring Eric Tutsi over him.

The situation around Babia would change when Quartier Latin came back from Bercy. Paparazzi Toto then taking his place. However, Paparazzi didn't make it on the Zenith-list and would later join Victoria. Babia was left behind and decided to join Jolino. He rejoined Quartier Latin in 2003. But to 2007, it was hard for him to get a place in Quartier Latin because of his addiction and he became like homeless person. He would often sing at markets to get some money and journalists would often interview him to make fun of his situation. Things changed from him when he dumped his ex'wife Manické who was also addicted (until this day), Koffi sending him for the third time to a rehab and Babia starting to date Alima Djamal.

Mustapha wasn't serious and went crazy for the girls in Paris. He already ran away before the Bercy tour ended. Papy Jah just spended 2 weeks in Quartier Latin. Between 2000 to 2005 multiple tenorists tried their luck in Quartier Latin, but they were often attacked by Jipson, Soleil and Fally. Former Anti-Choc singer Lady Miyembe explained in his interview with Ado Yuhe how they treated him when joining the band after Effrakata. Ramazani and Titina saved him, because they planned something bad against him. Papy Jah almost the same thing that Soleil, Jipson and co didn't want him and said that they would attack him with nkisi. He would later leave the band, because Fally wasn't liking him either

Not only this show flopped. Also the following one which was a vip-concert at Intercontinental (nowadays Pullman Grand Hotel). Koffi saying to Champion, that it was the first in his career that he made mpiaka at Intercontinental.

People were dissapointed when they discovered that Bouro, Sam, Modogo, Somono, Lebou and Pathy Bass all left. They had symphathy for them when Zacharie Bababaswe interviewed them to present Academia, them explaining that they weren't paid well for Zenith and Olympia. This made already a big part turning their back to Koffi. Another thing was that Koffi was in open-war with Papa Wemba who had back then the most fans in Kinshasa. Many people weren't liking how Koffi disrespected Papa Wemba openly in that video were he was mocking him about dancers running away.

Yeah, until this day he's in Quartier Latin. From 2000 to 2008 he became kind like of Lofombo, by participating in multiple albums of christian musicians and popular musicians at recorded at studio ndiaye and studio meko. He participated to Manda Chante's Bouclage, Alain Mpela's Intifada. From 2003 until 2010, Koffi was never giving Rocky Blanchard proper value. It's only when Binda Bass decided to settle in Paris back in 2010, that he started to respect Rocky Blanchard a little bit.

Koffi was mad at Blanchard for dating a dancer back in 1996 when coming to Kenya and they even fought. There was even a concert that they performed without bass-player, until Popolipo asking him to bring Blanchard on stage because it was messing the concert up. After that Koffi promised himself to finish Blanchard, but Blanchard didn't knew because Koffi often acted like everything was cool. Koffi once sended his bodyguard to beat him seriously. After leaving him behind for Ultimatum. He brought Motingia Tunga into Quartier Latin to humilate him (QL having 3 bassplayers at that time), this made him leave QL for Zaiko. But when Koffi heard that Zaiko was going to Europe he did everything to get Rocky Blanchard back to QL, in order to let him stay in Kinshasa and let him suffer. He gave him a car that even wasn't working.

But later on Koffi came in conflict with Binda Bass and Binda almost stayed in Kinshasa before Olympia. But he was lucky that Kokar Masakuba didn't ask a visa for him to Europe. Which made Blanchard going back to Kinshasa via Kenya where they were staying (back then the second Congo war started), Koffi who was in Paris with the rest of Quartier Latin sending a ticket to Binda in Kinshasa to join the rest along with Rosette Kamono and Modogo. At the same time he did everything to block Zaiko's tour in Europe which also happened. Later on Koffi would make the song Rond Point to mock them about it.

Blanchard returned three times to Quartier Latin. In 1998 just before Olympia but leaving them in 1999 to join Academia as second bassplayer and training also the bunch of musicians that were recruited in Kinshasa. But for whatever reasons one admin were against him joining when Academia arrived in Kinshasa. Later on he was contacted by Savanet Depitcho and JF Ifonge to recruit with the late Ondo musicians for their band in Kinshasa. But after months he discovered that they weren't serious. Both guys returned to Quartier Latin in 2000. In 2001 he hoped to be on the Zenith-list, being with Ile de Camboge one of the key-musicians who prepared Effrakata every hard. But this time Koffi decided not to bring a second bass-player to Europe (I guess that he suspected him for running away or him wanting to make just fun about Blanchard suffering). After that he would join Academia, but the ngulu-affair and leadership war killed the band which made Blanchard once again return in 2003.
