Is Denis Lutula the brother of Auguy Lutula? Did he ever play on Papa Wemba or Viva La Musica records?

In the video he explained that he’s Auguy Lutula’s nephew. Lol, hè was never in Viva La Musica or any Wemba song. He’s a former member of Victoria Eleison from the Mboka Mboka days

Its crazy to hear that Coco Tchomba played almost the whole Mboka-Mboka album, Adricha Tipo-Tipo (Dandy) and Signora Deptra Uomo (Kimpiatu) just one. I saw Coco Tchomba always as a faux drummer when performing in concerts of Quartier Latin. Signora Deptra Uomo and Adricha Tipo-Tipo both convinced me when seeing their old concerts they played with Madilu. But yeah in the studio its a different story and staying on the same tempo. One of the reasons why Defao was often inviting Djudjuchet to do some work in his albums and Werrason the same in Solola Bien and Kibuisa Mpimpa because of their drummers having difficulties in the studio.

2 years ago I saw an interview of Coco Tchomba with Nadege Ibwakungu explaining that Werrason already approched him to join Wenge 4x4 as 3th drummer (He probably knew that Wenge would split in the comings weeks) and even performed during Wenge's last concert which took place at YMCA (Place du 4 janvier) in Matonge. But when Wenge split he preferred to go for a test in Victoria Eleison and him meeting Papy Kakol there. Papy Kakol then not being selected because he was able to stay on one tempo and Coco Tchomba passing the test. The same Kakol going to Maison Mere for a test a few weeks later and being selected there.

What is it about playing in studio that's difficult for drummers? Because Kakol plays well in concerts, you wouldn't think that he would need help.

I dont know how to say it in english. But in studio its about to follow the diapason.

Papy Kakol plays well in concerts and made alot of progress, due to work and alot of coaching from drummers like Djudjuchet. If you watch concerts of Maison Mere in 1998 to those of 2010, you can hear/see a huge difference. But until this day he has sometimes still the same problem, for example the video he recorded with B-One

I thought playing in studio must be easier since you can correct your mistakes, no?

What Denis said about Victoria Eleison DTDB rehearsing without instruments makes sense. Its no wonder this group had some of the finest singers. Donc DTDB college ya bayembi!
