i picked that song because of its topic and i remember promising to translate it one day back on previous forum
i think with the lyrics,it will now be easier to those who do not know lingala to understand why jb mpiana had serious problems after releasing this song( and recently had some again after playing the full song in a popular concert)

I heard kinshasa was very nice,when i arrived in kin i was disappointed and felt sad
I hear kinshasa was the "black" version of Europe cities,after hearing many nice things about kin on radio,i quickly bought a ticket(bus or train)
when i arrived, i saw many people wandering in streets late in the night(who is going to take care of our plantations and farms now we all rush to kinshasa)
yet us in villages dream of seeing kinshasa once at least before dying
whether you are  a man,a woman,a children, you have to go to kinshasa
i was suprised and shocked when i went to matonge(one of the main quarters of kinshasa)
 when i went to boulevard triomphal(one of kin's biggest avenue) such  a bad susrprise
here and there funerals,here and there parties
 here and there markets,here and there garbage
here somebody is arrested,there there are thieves
 here and there street kids,here and there prostitutes
this looks like Sodom and Gomorrah, that's worrying
eating and dressing takes most of our money,transport is a luxury
you'll have to go on foot to school with just pieces of money to pay your school fees(in congolese system scholarship is paid several times in the year)
you'll come back home very tired,how will you be motivated to do your homework?
At the end of the year,your only choice is to "bribe" your diploma
you'll go to work without eating,as long as you are present
with such low and uncertain salaries,impossible to remain fully conscientious
you'll go back home very nervous and  run away from your wife and children
to avoid them presenting their problems
if you dont pay water or electricity bill,its cut
if you dont pay your rent on time,you get a notice
rural depopulation in kinshasa has destroyed the country's economy,what a pity

who said kinshasa was Heaven
whereas you can easily see its a living hell
there is no proper job,rather go back to village
you can sleep with prostitutes for little money
even water is sold in plastic bags

its a bit tough to translate in english since most of the sentences are in  old lingala will a lot of metaphors
but to make it short,it some sort of mix of  kinshasa and esau(criticizing the country then lamenting about hate)

Ah,i see what you mean,i've had problems understand what Defao was trying to say,could it be the reason why he failed to return to Kin and from Zambia he went straight to Kenya? Maybe

its almost finished,they will start rehearsing there next year,but i dont know if they will show images of every single rehearsal like its done with la zamba
for the moment,they have been rehearsing at a parish for years,or in one of genta's houses or in jb's main house

It's taken me about 15 years to learn lingala and it is by asking and associating with Congolese people. Back in Zambia I had Congolese friends who owned bars and I used to ask them a lot of questions about musicians,lyrics and translations just as much as I ask archos who has really been of great help to me and others here.
Here in the UK,I also have Congolese friends, the man who taught me how to play guitar is Congolese,he played for bands in Brazza and KIN,i also ask him too many things,my other good friend is former Big Stars soloist Renato Mondele and his band members in London,they are very helpful guys they've been perfecting my lingala yesterday I even played rhythm guitar with them after a show,their soloist gave me a few tips on solo guitar. :lol:

LOL, don't be surprised if you hear that am moving to Kin soon! Next year in July am going with my friend Renato Mondele to do a maxi single with his Kin based band and for pleasure of course, can't wait to visit BCBG rehearsal place and La Zamba.  :lol:
