Nah I don't want to cause Polemics or nun, I was just curious to see how little sales Congolese music have compare to other genres 12k for a big artist like Fally is really little

Don't forget that this are only the sales of France and that African people living in France don't listen to Congolese music anymore like back in in the 80s, 90s and 2000s. Also many don't know Heritier well.

Also this is counting the sales of FNAC and places like that ,not chateau rouge and co
thats the reason why the disques d'or of back in the days were fake,our artists sold a lot but not in the "right places" to be duely considered otherwise some could have hit diamond disk

This is interesting although not surprising I looked at the streaming charts and fally was top 10 in almost all black African countries Heritier only Angola the two Congo’s and Angola (Btw I’m a Heritier fan). So we should not be surprised but also the thing about Congolese music is regardless of streams these guys can sell out concerts in ways a lot of western musicians who get streams cannot, and mabanga money>>>> streams looooooool

Oh yes I forgot about that JPS Production, Sonodisc and co not wanting to pay those taxes of SABAM and SACEM, just declaring 10%, 20% of the discs they have and the rest who were sold at Matonge, Chateau Rouge being of the black market.

I don't really understand why are people doing this comparison.

Fally did a french pop urban album. France is the n°A market for his album.

Heritier did a rumba album. France is not in his target market.

This is like comparing the sales of a Francis Cabel album in France or iin Nigeria.

I don't know why Congolese people are obsessed with the french mainstream market in France. France is not a rumba land. You don't even have 1 million congolese in France. It's a tiny marlet for rumba, outside of playing in halls and getting mabanga money.

Yep. Fally is doing a mainstream urban pop french album with a lot of features. If he sells less than 100K , it's a flop for those who cares about sales. Personnaly, I don't but his fans seem to care.

This is not a congolese music album, he should be compared to french/belgian mainstream artists, not Heritier.

Comparing a french album (despite being done by a congolese musician) to a congelese album on the french market in order to decide which one is doing good is senseless.

Bro calm down, No one wasn't comparing anything, Fally and HÉRITIER are the only Congolese who released full albums lately, and I just post the sales, it was never about Fally Vs Héritier neither anybody Vs anybody, it was just a way to show how little Congolese artists sell, I couldn't care less if Fally outsold Héritier

Well said, and frankly this should be atop the list. Different sounds attracting different markets.

Also, following the commercial success of Tokos 1, it was expected that there would be major interest in the second one. Whether or not the music lived up to expectations is another story.
