NO Disrespect: But isnt it time for koffi to
He has been in the game for over forty-three years. Isn't it time for him to relax, release unreleased stuff, sit down, write a book about his life, or make a movie about his life, no concerts like we don't need new music every month from him he's already an official legend. I'm wrong, or not please tell me

He’s making $100k+ per concert contract nowadays. Unless he’s making bank on royalties, he’s going to keep at it for as long as he can. I agree, but this is the fact of the matter

he must be banking on old royalties. All of those classic albums he got, all of those cars that he has shown cant be from show money cant be... I hope this can reach him somehow, or someone within his team taps him on his shoulders like, "bro relax a lil bit; you are only getting older."

You don't know Congolese people well. If he retire, people won't respect him anymore and mocking himfor being finished Emeneya & Papa Wemba in their last years and Bozi Boziana nowadays, having to die to earn all the respect.

so there's a "what have you done for me lately" type of culture smh?  but Awilo longomba seems to be retired in peace still a legend hasn't dropped an album in thirteen years

Congolese people dont take Awilo Longomba serious, like way they dont respect Kanda Bongo Man. They see Awilo as a clown. Its people coming from Western and Eastern Africa who respect him.

Looool!! Clown!! that is harsh. You may disagree with me but there are parts of Africa that Koffi is still popular than any other Congolese musician alive. Movies don't pay in Africa and he knows that and Africans don't buy books as well. Who has bought Wazekwa's book in here? How much has it given Wazekwa in revenue?

But for Awilo it wasn't faie guys, it really wasn't. After all he had done, it hurts to see his new songs sitting on 16K views, he is a legend in Zimbabwe, he was once the most loved musician in South Africa, they loved him more than their own. Retiring isn't a good thing then lol............. Can someone check with JB Mpiana maybe he retired privately.

To be honest we need to appreciate the man whilst he’s still here, he’s been active for 40+ years, I can’t remember the last time an artist has been on a run for that long. I wouldn’t mind new music from him now and then, but only if it’s done right. Not 50 Papa Mobimba remixes, or those mumbling sexual rhumbas, but if he did more songs like Alidor and Elelo, and nice generiques then why stop.

i cant tell you the full figures since i dont know them but what i can tell you is that  he is very very very happy with the outcome and when wazekwa is happy with money its not little money(but obviously not mega sales worldwide either lets be honest)
he does not talk about it yet but he plans with that  money to open in the future a school which will have  computers so that children learn way before high school,

Over here in Kenya Koffi is still huuuge. 90% of his fans dont even care about Cindy or who is in his band. As long as the music is from Koffi, they partake. It's only 'experts' like us who know and hate the fact that all his generiques nowadays sound the same. Everybody else just dances and still will.

i doubt koffi will ever retire,he loves and needs that attention and pressure,thats what made him different from most clan zaiko guys who either just did not have the attributes or the  hunger to keep following trends to remain in the top of the game( can i you imagine for one second even in the craziest of the craziest dreams nioka longo doing b'ados loooooool somebody who can make 3 years without interview and who barely smiles)

When you say it, Koffi die hard fans call you a hater.

Koffi got nothing left in the tank. He should chill, push his band and Cindy, do shows based on his classics like all the greats did.

He's out there messing up his discography. He loves the attention too much.

I don't think people will say Koffi asila and mock him. Koffi will still able to pack shows with his old songs. Koffi refuse to be that old man. But that's life.

The Problem is Congolese people or the journalist in general don't want to tell Congolese artist the truth. Koffi should do what other greats have done, retire and focus on producing Quartier latin albums, pushing out new Talents like he did with Cindy and Fally. by the way a lot of people seem to like and want to hear more from the Quartier latin new Singer Lingalala if i was Koffi i would put my time and effort on him
