Title: R.I.P. Forum Member Mwana Nsalu
Post by: Tata Nkiadi on December 06, 2017, 17:45
It is with deep regret to inform the members of this forum that Ms. Stacey Bazu also known on this forum as Mwana Nsalu passed away Monday from breast cancer at age 35.  A lot of us remember Ms. Bazu as an original member from previous forums where we've grown to know each other as a collective group for over 15 years.  It is on these forums where she wowed us with her talents as a Congolese-American singing songs in Lingala and posting them online and displaying her passion for Odemba/Rhumba music.  I am utterly heartbroken and saddened over this news. She leaves behind her father, Guy Angrand and a young son.

Oh my, a dagger just went through my heart. The kindest woman of them all. And her passion for the genre was so admirable.

May Ms Bazu rest in eternal peace.

I'm still in shock. Combining the old forums, I've known Ms. Bazu for more than 10 years. Indeed @archos, it's like loosing a family member.

@Tata Nkiadi; not sure if this if this is the right time to ask, but do you know the status of Papa PC? He was that crazy uncle that everyone loved anyways. Also, Haha Le Prof. "le grand Koffiphile". Their online presences are dearly missed.

Losing a member is a hard pill to swallow, especially those who've made great contributions to help advance the awareness of this beautiful genre that we love.  Yeah we don't agree with most things, but it's those passionate discussions that help keep these forums going.  Ms. Bazu will be sorely missed.

Unfortunately, I have lost contact with a lot of the old members. Aside from a few, many of them have changed their email addresses over the years.  At some point today I will attempt to contact guys like Haha, PC Mpondolo, Adoyo. Nyatipro, Omosh, David Noyes and Martin Sinnock are on FB and I catch up with them from time to time.  I wish I still had contact information for Ronald Zee and Yvonne, although it seems they've retreated from forum life in recent years and don't want to be bothered and I honestly don't blame them.

Ms. T and I are still good friends to this day, however she too is battling from Breast Cancer and has been in and out of the hospital over the years.  Keep her in your prayers.

Truly sad, rest in peace our Sista.... if theres something we could do i.e. donations guys please let us know

Hello everyone...
If you are interested in making a donation on behalf of Stacey , this is one organization  that the family would appreciate.
I have been in contact with  both her father and sister, Stacey was diagnosed  with a very aggressive  Stage 4 Breast Cancer.. It had already Metastasized... spread to other organs and bones.

Metavivor is a non profit organization , 100% of all the money that is donated goes directly to research to better understand why metastasis occurs along with  methods of combating this.  . As yet there is no effective treatment to slow the process of metastasis. Only approximately 2%  from millions raised through various fund raisers   that promote Pink  goes towards  metastasis..not enough.

By now Breast Cancer should be a chronic illness not continuing to kill  more than 40,000 women and men yearly .

Here is the link...... thank you....
