I didn't knew that Sebaret had a rich career like that, having played Conga Succes, Vicky Longomba, Pepe Kallé, Bobongo Stars, being co-founder of Bana Odeon.
Looks like Maika Munan has problems with many arrangers and guitarists. Lokassa ya Mbongo also attacked him during an interview he made before getting a stroke. So most arrangements Maika did in Foridoles were just that of Sebaret and the Camerounian arranger ? But Maika just put his name on the disc when Sebaret being in jail ?
I would like to know the name of his uncle who got in jail when doing a song about colonizers in Kikongo. I once watched the catalogue of Ngoma and noticed that before 1955 most artists being signed there were recording their songs in Kikongo. Some in Tshiluba, Azandé, Lokolé, etc. It was interesting to see how many artists progessively switched to Lingala in the years that followed. Was it the succes of Wendo Kolosoyi and Manuel d'Oliveira with his band San Salvador that influenced them or was it the raise of Lingala that came by those soldiers of the Second World War ?
