It's simple, he lost the core of his band that helped him artistically and musically. Ibra, Adada, Cedric, Mbonzo and Carine.

i forgot to add that one said that maybe it his mupe thing which got him nowhere in the "actualité" and that if he revives the confident and agressive fabregas he will make proper headlines against like robinio is starting to do
yeah jv great observation he's now lost technically every of the writers of his group(adada, ibra, but na filet, mugler)and materazzi,10 ya match, boudchou, zanotti, thats quite a lot
mais ye pe asalaki vantard ya ki leader avannnnnt voila les consequences lol

He needs a proper rival in my opinion, he should Rival either Héritier or Deplick. That will help boost him again.

Just look at the numbers, that’s a lot of useful musicians he lost.

not much the writers who are in a group already dont sell songs to the leader he takes it naturally, but for the writers from outside not much, some albums you hear were not even sold for lets say 3000 dollars combining all the writers involved
there are writers who can sell to leaders a pack of 10 songs for 500 dollars(in reality leaders con them a lot they are often promised more but the day they are meant to receive leader gives money to somebody to give to them or starts dribbling them for months until giving them those 500)

The problem is that when he was going hard on Fally, this phenomenon drew attention to him but a false attention because it did not bring him solid fans or very little... Secondly like @JV said he lost a majority of key members and thirdly, he released too many projects in a short time (almost a double album every year except in 2018). For me, after ya mado, he should have released a strong double album with 50% rumba 50% seben (with generiques with synthe like Zigida and generiques with solo guitar) and make a maximum of promotion (without going into clashs with other artists)

Like Koffi, JB and Werra did when they lost key members in respectively in 1999, 2002 and 2004, Fabregas should focus on re building a solid band before release an another solo album or group album

Is the same old story in Congolese music. Kicking out charismatic people (fear of being replaced or fear of authority being challeng) then flop or going to a very slow amd painful spiral of fame lost. Like Werra for example tht in his words said that Vital Kahmere (ViKa for friends) has started to avoid him by saying that he is busy and that he wil get back at Werra once he had time. JB with Alain Mpela and Caludji living became the lazy person we know now, and Koffi (kinda understandable, Koffi doesn't want strong members in his group he fears they might be a second Fally leave and became bigger than him) clearly sees Cindy has the only star. Werra would have been global if he only paid those money to Bill and the others, Fabregas with the success of the Orchestra Albm would have become like a new Koffi with Cible, JB if he had released constantly Ndombolo music would still be relevant, but all these guys have choosen yesman and naysayers instead of harsh truth and growth

Yeah it seems like he kind of fell off, he really had a talented team but like it was mentioned most of them are gone. I don't think he needs to do polemic or have a rival, because when Anapipo came out none of that was the case with him and it was critically acclaimed.
Or moto asala le monde eza yo Nzambe tata, Kita okata po mokili trop matata, kata- Fally Ipupa
