Artists like Koffi Olomide, Fally Ipupa, J.B. Mpiana, Abeti Masikini and Werrason had claimed that they had a golden record(s) "Disque d'Or" in France. But I've seen interview of Emeneya and others, where they said that nobody had a golden record and they are doing that to get more attention from peoples. Is that true? Or are they just jealous?

Even Vasco Mabiala had claimed in 2011 that Ferre Gola had a golden record with Qui Est Derriere Toi, saying that he got it because of solding more than 110.000 in Africa,Europe & America. Which is not true because, it's not about how much sold around the world, but it's about how much you sold in a country like Belgium, Canada,France(where you must sold above more than 50.000 to get it),etc. Vasco claimed at the same time that Ferre had won 3 trophee at the TAAC's, for the categories Meilleur chanteur d'Afrique , Meilleure voix masculine d'Afrique Centrale , meilleure chanson et meilleur clip. While these categories don't exists at that awards. I've seen the edition of Taac that year live on tv and he didn't won any award there, he just did a playback of Tshekele Pete. The thing that is bad, is that many big sites reported that. Why Fally said Kosa Leka

its hard to justify because this is about copyright and things for example the bar-code of the album will indicate how much the album will sell and SACEM who are responsible for these type of work will inform you how much you have sold now with congolese music i'm not too sure whether the disc really go gold in the french/belgian industry but some you can believe for example loi significant plays also droit chemin but i'm not too sure

kie kie kie yes it seems that most if not all those gold disc are fake, its difficult to know the complete truth
but its a bit bizarre to me because at least in congolese community or to a certain extent african community some of those so called disc d or albums had success like some album from european artists who received platinum and stufff like that
so maybe the difference between both continents is piracy(false cds) because it would be strange that albums of monumental african succes like loi, solola bien or feux de l'amour for example are far from disque d or material or even platinum, those albums are still sold even today over 10 years after

Yes that's true someone told that Loi & Solola Bien already sold above the 300.000 at this moment. It makes me still angry how David Monsoh was lying to the people that they sold more than  40.000 copies in the first week for A2BM in France, while the streets weren't really full with peoples who wanted to buy the album.

yes loi solola bien feux d lamour and foridoles are very very well sold
lol i think it could be true for A2BM because claudy siar was saying to fally once that if he released album  a few months earlier he could have gone gold disc very week
so maybe not 40 000 but he surely sold  20 thousand otherwise it would have been gold in less than a month since gold is now 50 000 cds
its strategy they exagerate numbers to influence people
its like boite noire which had "sold" 30 000 cds the two first days of the release kie kie kie
