I will do the translation to night or tommorow

Here Biblos Lufula talked about the reason of Saddam's grude towards Wenge 4x4, which made him support Wenge El Paris, the foundation of Wenge Maison Mere. He also talked about the creation of Ndombolo, etc. Beside that he revealed also that after failing to recruit Manda Chante in Wenge Maison Mere, they wanted to recruit Marie Paul as musician and make him the president of Wenge Maison Mere to replace JB Mpiana and Werrason holding his role as financial director (now I understand why Marie Paul always keep saying for years that he's the founder of Wenge Maison Mere) and Marie Paul accepting it, but changing his mind on the last minute after talking with his wife.

Biblos started the interview good, but he messed it up towards the end, by claiming that Marie Paul still have succes and between Werrason and JB Mpiana there's no winner. I think that his love for JB Mpiana and Marie Paul is to big. Because Marie Paul succes came to end when he came to Europe in 2000 with almost all concerts being big mpiaka's and KO Debout flopping hard, he made a comeback with Eboulement, but after that he wasn't the same guy anymore that he used to be in the 90s. On JB Mpiana's side, JB Mpiana lost the war against Werrason when the Schengen-ban came, which made Werrason made him dominate even more, having already the whole press and political class behind him.

i think wazola nsafu(byblos) meant that marie paul still has his name and aura, not the success as a musician on daily basis like in the past and also saying jb or werra who won some say werra won,but also a lot of people consider it as both won their real target which was to become superstars and have a lot of money, in many years there is always one who drops a lot at some point(for example the way a lot of people saw kester and bokul as wayyyy behind koffi in their last 10 years of life),but werra and jb of today there is no major difference, like it should have been given the edge maison mere had

If Marie Paul never pushed Mande Chante out of Wenge El Paris, they could have managed on just as popular Masion Mere and BCBG. That polemique between Mande and Marie took the attention away from the good albums they were releasing.

I heard they spent too much time touring in Europe like QL Academia did for Viagra, so when they returned to Kinshasa the response to them was passive.

lol, as popular like Maison Mere and BCBG. Bro, Wenge El Paris were the rivals of Wenge 4x4 and the were more popular then Wenge Maison Mere before Intervention Rapide. Wenge El Paris did alot of things that Wenge 4x4 weren't able to do in Kinshasa and that was performing in stadiums. Wenge El Paris performed like 3 or 4 times at Stade de 20 Mai and they managed to perform at l'Esplanade de Palais du Peuple with an overcrowded place (Marie Paul being help on a tshipoyi during his entrance and those cameramen falling done on the stairs, with journalist Manda Tchebwa and Madilu having something like wtf whats is going on, this not normal). They won several times the award of best band of Congo/Zaire and Marie Paul that of best star. The last time was in 1998 with Couvre Feu. Marie Paul had always big crowds behind him, when walking on the streets. Always when Wenge 4x4 came back from Europe-tours, Marie Paul would mess it up, by coming with a soccer-ball and stealing all the public and people following him like they were hypnotized (screaming Roi Soleil, Roi Soleil, Roi Soleil), which was pissing JB and co off. That was also one of the reason why they recorded "Le Monde Est Mechant", beside reacting against Fidelite Sens Unique, because they were angry the way he stole their public while performing at Nsele Folis.

Wenge El Paris were a big threat to Wenge 4x4 already from the start when Ricoco Bulambemba released Molangi Ya Malasi, hence why JB, Werra & Masela ordered to arrest Jules Biselelele (RIP) and Belis Mfumu (RIP) who making fanclubs in Kinshasa for Wenge El Paris. They become stronger when Manda Chante joined.

The only problem with Wenge EL Paris was that they weren't able to go back to Europe, 7 years long, while all bands were able to tour in Europe. They came back in 2000 and then never returned back, except Marie Paul on his own. For example KO Debout got released 1/2 months, after being arrived in Europe, when they were in full tour. So they started to promote the album in Europe, performing at Cabaret Sauvage (with Koffi as guest) in Paris and Concert Noble in Brussels, but those concerts weren't a succes. They had to return to Kinshasa, but Marie Paul wanted them all get papers, because he knew that if they would return, they would maybe struggle again to get visa's like the first time (LD Kabila helped them, also when they came to Europe they came throught Brazzaville instead of Kinshasa. Because they knew that the DGM could block them at the airport). So they dissapeared for months until that they started recording Eboulement.

The polemique between Manda Chante and Marie Paul didn't took away the attention away from the good albums they were releasing. The problem with Manda Chante was that his albums were never good promoted, also alot people didn't see him as a leader. The problem of Marie Paul was that when he released K.O. Debout, there was bad publicity because of the beef he had with Zacharie Bababaswe, the reported mpiaka's in Europe which dissapoint in Kinshasa, his rivals did everything to block the promotion of that album and his fanbase was in Kinshasa, while he decided to settle in Europe after his long absence there. But Eboulement was a huge succes, becoming 3 in the musiccharts of Kinshasa with Marie Paul annoucing his return to Kinshasa and concert at Stade des Martyrs, but then his rivals started to contact Sonima to stop the promotion of the album, also his own musicians started to become big headed and disrespect him openly in concerts. So not long after that his band disbannded (most musicians joined Viva Tendence). From then things weren't going well for Marie Paul, people started to say that he lost his head, that he become drugaddict and sleep in subwaystations, he started to preach people like a pastor on the streets in Chateux Rouge. Then suddenly Zacharie Bababaswe spotted him, and adviced him to go back to Kinshasa. He return to Kinshasa created some buzz and he was able to perform in one weekend at a full Salon Congo (Grand Hotel), a filled the YMCA-stadium and a big crowded Marche de Liberte in Masina. But it also ended there, because after that he became like a musician that never existed, mpiaka everywhere.

Marie Paul was able to fight Wenge 4x4, despite being stuck in Kinshasa for years, by coming with strategy of performing often in areas like Masina, Kisenso, Ndjili, Kingasani ya Suka & Camp Luka (which is full of Bayaka). Wenge 4x4 were never performing there (only Ndjili on rare occasions), because they were a band of the elite, despite influencing youngster. Also the majority of people living there came from the Bandundu-province, which made them have also a special relation with him. So Marie Paul had then automatically a bigger fanbase then Wenge 4x4. That's also why Werrason easily stole his fans, after giving his strategy away to him and advising his fans to support his brother Werrason. You will notice that Werrason always praise often Masina and the Tshangu-area (Bana Tshangu eeeh) in songs and interview since 1998, also perform there often and present musicians "saying to those musicians this the place where you will get the power". Calling them also often bana secteur, with bana secteur he often refer to those coming or descend from those villages of the Kwango-district and Kwilu-district, those disctrics are divided in sectors (secteurs in French). Alisi Baba who was close to Papa Wemba, would advise Werrason to become close to shegues, to become totally untouchable in terms of fans. Back in the days Papa Wemba used to be king of shegues until the Fula Ngenge-days, promoting them in concerts and songs. Giving them some hope with the cri "Shegue Chance Eloko", which would 20 years later be misunderstood when the combattans-phenomenon started.
