Title: WMM FORCE D’INTERVENTION RAPIDE, IT SEEMS LIKE PEOPLE FORGET ABOUT THIS ALBUM

By forget I mean when people talk about Maison Mere’s Albums they tend to leave this one out at times, it’s always Solola Bien, Kibuisa and A La que leu leu and so on.
For me this is my favourite Maison Mere album, proper powerful sebene and nice Rhumba’s too, with Ferre singing having the most vocals on the album, his vocal in Kalayi Boeing amazed me he did a good job replacing Jb (I always wonder what Jb’s reaction was when he heard it) and from that I knew Ferre would have a good future in music.
Everytime I listen to it it brings me back to my childhood, My Mother (RIP) was also a big fan of this album and would always play it when given the chance.
I’ve seen and know some people who claim they’re the biggest Maison Mere fan but haven’t even listened to this album which I’m like you can’t claim to be the biggest Maison Mère fan if you haven’t listened to all their albums .

may she rest in peace bro,i think it was also the recording which did not help global perception of that album,a bit like attentat, then in force de frappe and solola bien those two new teams now nailed it and became untouchable

Yes actually this is a good album. For me the best tracks are the Générique and Kalayi Boeing.

My favorites are the generic, Fredy Movadi, Mission Impossible and Verset Oublier (I’ve never seen Adolphe singing it in concerts). All sebenes were excellent and I liked Serge Mabiala, Lacoste & Adjani’s vocals.

In Kinshasa the album is still respected and also the old generation of Europe. It’s just the instagram-generation does not really rate it, because they didn’t witness the succes and since that Solola Bien, Kibuisa Mpimpa were Maison Mère’s biggest succes they just jumped in (them being born in 2000, 2001, 2002, etc.).

This album is still highly rated by those who lived to see its success. I mean, songs like the generique, Chantal Switzerland and PDG Makambo are classics. It's just that it's become overshadowed by Solola Bien and Kibuisa Mpimpa, or as Mfumu says, underrated by the youngers.

It was because of this album that MM were able to play at Villejuif and Palais des Sports.

Thanks Yaya, Yeah I kinda wonder how it would be if it was recorded in those europe studios but obviously they didn't have the visas to tour

Yeah when I was last in Kin I heard Likelemba and Fredy Movadi being played a lot in bars, The success of this album was something else, people were going crazy to get a copy.

The ardent and loyal crowds at the concerts during that era says a lot about how many were able to look past the sound quality and enjoy the album for what it is. I feel like if Intervention Rapide had better mixing and/or was recorded abroad, it could've blown the competition out of the water and essentially turn MM into worldwide stars on the first go.

I think it did though, because here in London it was played a lottttt. I heard it more then I heard Titanic, Intervention Rapide was the album that people here preferred.

I think that was because Solola Bien was such a successful album that people forgot about the first album. I mean on Solola Bien, you have Kofi Ayina. That song will remain one of Werrason's best songs of all time.

Sans oublier Tonton Jacques (RIP) he was really important in the first 4 years of  Wenge Maison Mere. I thought that he would one day get a song, because of his huge contributions in Maison Mere, but it never came. Its is very rare to hear his name mentioned in interviews when former Maison Mere-musicians talk about their first tour in London. I didn't even know that he died a long time ago, knowing it only when talking with my brother in Manchester 7 years ago about those who he used to hear often in songs and me wondering why I wasn't hearing anything about anymore, (talking about that spot of his cd/vhs/shop "Place Victoire" and Rouph Mbuta Nganga mentioning very hard his name "Tonton Jacques na Londres") and my brother saying that he passed away somewhere in 2008.

The sound was very bad. Titanic and Cocktail were way better albums.

And another reason I don't really like it is that it reminds me of the war.

Bro I agree with you that Titanic was better recorded that Force d'intervention Rapide but I dont agree for Cocktail, Cocktail has almost the same quality sound that force d'intervention rapide

You're right.  Cocktail sound was also bad, but musically it was way better, so it gets a pass.

Meh debatable, sound wise yes Titanic was better but as album I don’t know, because the Generique and sebene in Force D’intervention rapide were much better and more aggresssive than Titanic.
But then again it’s different for everyone growing up I was listening to Intervention Rapide a lot more than Titanic, Titanic is still a masterpiece itself.

Maybe it was because of the drum kit that Lofombo used to program the drums. I don't know but I think he was a sound engineer at M'Eko Sound.

You're right about the seben. I never liked Titanic seben. Too soft, except for RDC seben.

However, Titanic has way better songs. If you take that plus the sound quality, it's not even close.

I also grew up listening to Intervention Rapide. I did not like Titanic back then. My big cousin was listening to Titanic and she was calling Intervention Rapide miziki ya ba shegué. LOL.

It's only after years that I went back and listened to Titanic and I understood that it was a great album. Better than Intervention. Songs like RDC, Procès Mambika, Omba, Likala Moto, Alain Baracuda, Serge Palmi. Intervention Rapide is not on that level.

However, I wonder what Intervention Rapide will sound like if it was remastered.

My favorite song from Intervention Rapide is Verset Oublié. LOL.
