Interestingly, I never considered buying a Yamaha. But not for thinking it is bad, just even forgot they produce electric guitars. I have never tried any by them. I hope you will find it satisfying.

The guitar I found great for my needs is PRS Singlecut.




Bought the cheaper one that was made in Korea, but nevertheless it is great. Have tried many other brands in the same price range: Fender Stratocaster from Mexico, Jackson Lightweight, Ibanez Artist, Ibanez Studio, Cort. But this is the only one that I found is really a joy to play. For some reason, I often had problems like some notes didn't ring well on some frets when playing fast soukous songs, however I was pressing the strings really hard. And lowering the tension didn't really help. In case of this guitar, every note is ringing clearly. Maybe it is just a matter of correct setting, but this guitar arrived to me in factory set condition, and even this way it is very pleasant to play. And the sound is great too. It has a sound a bit similar to the Jazz Guitars and Les Paul, so not that Stratocaster rattling sound, nor the thin voice of Superstrats. It is of course just a matter of preference. If you like that Les Paul like sound, I can recommend this guitar every way. The only problem is that it has only 22 frets. That makes me need to keep my superstrats.
