Brigade was 21 when he joined Quartier Latin.
If I understand well CNN was still coming to concerts animating with Brigade before they go to Europe ? (By the way is it true they had a fight back then ?) Zenith was really the first concert of Kerozene ? Waw that's a strong beginning.
Was CNN still coming to concerts after he saw Koffi f.... Sandralina ?

I didn't know Momo (the tenorist in "Pas de Faux Pas") died back then in Brazzaville. Now he admit that after V12 he starts to neglect his work (coming late, drugs..). But he didn't say that he sang in the first version in Ultimatum they recorded in Kenya. I would like to know more about his song from Ultimatum. I would pay to hear that version hahaha.
He's lying about "Dulcinée" I really doubt the song was about Koffi. And like Mfumu Vata said Suzuki said "Dulcinée" was already prepared in the 90s

Loooool you posted this on purpose because of that crap we got from him today. This was decent but I didn't like it so much because of the many changements de frequence. But if you compare it to everything we've been getting the past few years then I'd say its good.
Indeed too many changement de fréquence. This is crap. It's not on the same level of the generiques of Affaire d'État, Force de Frappe and others.

I'm so shocked, such a legend man. I would have loved to witness the time he played. RIP

I completely agree with you. Our music is so s**t nowadays, I can't even remember the last time we had a year full of great albums. The only decent album we've had in the past few years was probably Rendekita but the rest naa! Even Fally and Ferre's or the whole 5th Gen's albums don't impress me. 30 Tracks with 98% with Long ass boring Rumbas and Trash Generiques with no Sebene. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this stupid rumba trend must go. It's like our artists don't even try anymore nowadays, it's so disappointing.
I agree with you. So sad I was too young to witness time when congolese artists they used to drop good quality albums. Even though i'm young the 5th generation never impressed me even Droit Chemin and Sens Interdit (despite being ok albums). It seems like since 2004-2005 nobody makes a effort to do a complete album. These senseless generiques those long boring ass rumbas full of sexual references really killed our music. And i'm not talking about those coupe décalé generiques ....kiekiekie

Koffi used Eric Tutsi's pic in the Ultimatum-booklet. Was that the trip where he became ill because of drugs ? Because according Suzuki in an interview he once made after being mad at Fally & Eric, he almost died when they once to Kenya.
This 1996 trip to Kenya, was the same trip where they recorded Ultimatum, having Pathy Bass & Rocky Blanchard (they apparently argued there and at one concert even playing without bass for a long time, because of Koffi not wanting to have him on stage. I remember Kenyas on a rumba-facebook page claiming that the argument was about Miette Shegue.) on the bass, Coco Tchomba & Champion Djikapela on the drums, Lebou Kabuya, Do Akongo, Felly Tyson, Beniko Popolipo on the guitars, Ondo on the keyboards, Nseka on the conga's, the atalaku combo Dolce Somono and Mbosshi and the dangerous singing section of Babia Ndonga, Eric Tutsi, Sam Tshintu, Willy Bula, Modogo Ambarambwa and Suzuki Luzubu. The really wondeer how the duet of Koffi & Babia was on the original version of Zahina and also Eric Tutsi song (according Rocky Blanchard they Koffi punished Babia who was then the main star by not giving him a song on this album, because of coming late and sometimes even not showing up at rehearshals)..
Sam Tshintu once said in an interview with Addy Londole that Koffi lost the recording-files of that album (or maybe he furious and him not wanting to release that version, after hearing that Babia Ndonga joined Anti Choc and that he was about to tour in Europe and Willy Bula joining Zaiko Langa Langa), which forced them to record a new version in Paris in a few days without Coco Tchomba, Lebou Kabuya, Rocky Blanchard, Pathy Bass and Eric Tutsi who all stayed in Kinshasa. Giving Binda Bass the opportunity to play bass on that album and the new recruited Bouro Mpela and Sam Tshintu doing a few vocals who were orginally done by Willy Bula, Babia and Eric Tutsi. Koffi adding Dessin Anime which he erased from the Magie-tracklist after Scola Miel's departure and modifing it by adding some vocals and keyboards of Ondo. However, Koffi still thanked sound-engineer Bruce Ochieng and Creative Studio Nairobi in the Ultimatum-booklet.
I never knew Eric Tutsi was supposed to have a song in Ultimatum. Was he supposed to sing Dulcinée ? Suzuki said that Eric Tutsi had that song 1994 but i don't know if it's true. So Sam wasn't supossed to have many vocals in Ultimatum. Was his song Shambouyi popular back then ? (Because you told me that he wasn't as famous as Suzuki, Willy Bula,Modogo, Babia & Eric Tutsi because he didn't have a vocal to his name) I think it's sad too i would love to hear the 1996 version of Ultimatum with almost the same squad of Magie.

I think Maika Munan he made Nouvelle Ecriture, Pole Position and Foridoles for Papa Wemba (Papa Wemba was fair for mentioning him as "realisateur and direction musicale" this album and crediting him as composer for most songs), Arsenal des Belles Melodies & Droit Chemin for Fally Ipupa (who are seen as Fally's best albums), Solola Bien for Werrason (I wonder why Werrason never tried to contact him for other albums, was it for the way he started to shout at him and Adolphe in the studio?), Koweit Rive Gauche, Wake Up, Loi & Noblesse Oblige for Koffi Olomide, Le Monde Envers (aka Armageddon) for Wenge El Paris and for Reddy Amisi he arranged the albums Injustice, Prudence, Ziggy and Etoile.
Maika Munan used to shout at Werra & Adolphe in the studio ? Hahaha I imagine the scene

Spring 95 ok. So they came to record V12 not long after the Magie tour (which lasted from July to December 94-January 95 right ? )
I guess people were surprised to not see Willy Bula. He was very popular back then. He must have been very humiliating for him to be left behind (in Brazzaville right ?) and go back to Kinshasa
I get it now the problem Willy had with Koffi until he left in January 97 (after being left behind for the Ultimatum tour and the recording of Loi) was that he slept with a dancer kiekiekiekie

I know Quartier Latin went back to Kinshasa after Magie in January 1995 but I have a lot of questions about the 1995 europe trip. He didn't bring female dancers to this tour ? Who played drums in this concert ?
How long last this tour and V12 recordings ? It starts in July right ?
It seems like Passé Kossé wasn't there neither.

1) Ultimatum or Magie
I might go for Ultimatum since the sound is better, even though the version with Babia and Eric Tutsi should've been out.
2) Pas de Faux Pas - Etage Ya Suka
Very underrated album.
3) Affaire d'État?
i would pay i nice bit of money to hear the version with Babia (R.I.P) and Tutsi
Indeed lol Willy Bula sing in the first version of Ultimatum too. Back to the topic my favourite Quartier Latin album will always be Magie (I know.every song by heart lol). I wish I was older back then. Everybody must have been impressed that Koffi adapt his style to compete with Wenge by surrounding himself with youngsters

This is a sad situation. Same with Eric Tutsi. They have been harmed and are damaged goods. It is heartbreaking.
Eric Tutsi has recover since now he is in good shape. He even admit he was a junkie. But I hope ex-Quartier latin members would do something especially the "Generation Bercy" who knew him before Moustapha before he lost it. If i'm not wrong he's been like that since 2002 or 2003 right ?

Damn his voice is gone. Gibson did him really bad he must feared him a lot. I remember watching another interview of him at Nantes in YouTube 8 years ago. In this video he look way worse. I hope one day he will be "saved" I wonder what JF Ifonge, Jordan and the ex-Bercy team must think when they see Moustapha like that.

Yeah i would like to know more about the reaction of others Quartier Latin members. I know Suzuki and Bouro didn't like him. By the way how old is Depitcho ? 50 right ? Did he come long before Olympia ?
