« Ya Ofele, ou Ya Ofele te? » in my best Baby Ndombe voice  ;D

Even free I guess he’ll be playing for locals passing by doing daily activities

lol - a few things are certain in life - death, taxes, and Congovibes hate on Felix Wazekwa « S’Grave »  ;D ;D ;D

The man is trying his best

Knowing Koffi - he’ll be on some bullshit in either or both countries to piss off the compatriots there… only to return a few years later due to the antics Stockholm syndrome he so benefits from over the years.  Also an apology video/song helps the cause

It always spooks me that a lot of WMM staff and close affiliates died fairly young of mystery reasons.

The were heavy in kindoki during that era.. my friends used to tell me to avoid Zamba Playa because the folks in the crowd were not normal

Congolese Music / Re: Lokassa Ya Mbongo passed away

One of DR Congo best rhythm guitarists. He was very important for Tabu Ley's music and was among guitarists who created for the soukous that we know. His stay abroad in West Africa, France and USA made foreign people respect him more than Congolese people themselves.

Coupe Decale artist DJ Caloudji sampled a part of his guitar partition in sentiment moko

from 1:18 min & 1:52 min on 2:34 you can someone praise him as "loboko ya mosantu, lokassa ya mbongo". I don't know from which song it came.

Yeah - They treated him like royalty in Colombia and parts of the US

The sampling comes from soukous Star’s “tantina” (6:00-)

Also DJ Jacob did a sample of his rythme on Gadji Celi’s famous Maroc 88’ song

(2:00-)

RIP - he has at least 194 studio  albums to his credit

RIP - Lokassa ya Papier

He is arguably the most prolific rythmist the genre has seen in terms of discography and number of African artists he’s collaborated with. He was also one of the founding members of Soukous Stars

RIP to the most unique and original artist we have seen in the genre  - KWAMAMBU, KWANGOLO SONZO, MUTU WA ZAMANI

I know he was very ill (due to various reasons), but I don't think I've seen someone so sadden by their mentor death like he was with Tabu Ley

Ya Lacoste - from "I got a featuring with Usher on the way" to being another one of Nsone's court gestures

Did you guys know he released an album late last year?... Neither did I till I saw it on Apple Music recently ;D

i am sure other artists are SCARRRRRRRED these days to see drama unfold in their families like that since most of them have similar shape of things with their kids and baby mommas, exactly the same categories of people among their baby mommas
Facts bro, first it was Fally now Koffi lmao who’s next?

Papa Cherie already had his run (like 3-4 times with Amida). Forget about gen 5 - a few of them already had sex tapes leaked so nothing will draw the same level of attention in terms of drama

Seems only Nsone has his act together at the moment

Especially our guy on Cloud 9  ;)

Seems Vieux playboy Mopao is now in IDGAF mode, where a few years ago this kind of drama would scare him.

That being said - this stuff is kind of sad and telling of how dysfunctional the lives of stars can be

Congolese Music / Re: BILL CLINTON PLANS MARTYRS FOR 2024

I’m also gonna perform at martyrs at the end of the year, 31st December specifically so save the date lol.

With the unemployment rate right now, you’ll have no problem getting a capacity crowd. The real question is « Ya Ofele ou ya ofele te» - Baby Ndombe voice  ;D
