Congolese Music / Re: FABREGAS HAS SIGNED FOR A ZENITH SHOW
« on: April 12, 2024, 16:00 »
I guess Wazekwa and Fabro as completing to see who will have the bigger mpiaka this year in Europe. Gotta love the courage and audacity though

Yeah, Brazza has the Francophone dance game on lock at the moment. I know historically we don’t give enough respect to or rate Brazza music, but this dance/genre has spread like wildfire since 2022

Some of the songs I like

Congolese Music / Re: GUITAR EXPLAINATION OF KILA MOGROSSO

One of my favorite dances of all time. The triumvirate of Daddy Bola, Thierry Mongratana and Maestro Costa Pinto is seriously underrated. RIP Deo SFR

(2:55- ) very Wenge-esque here. The kinda of solo that Nsone fancied

that person is calling afara's friend pretending to be afara and about to go in studio and  that the friend is meant to send him money for mabanga while the real afara is sitting next hahaha what a glorious way to be put on blast
He is lucky nobody exposes him about what he is doing with some ministre

What's the scoop masta?

Have to say Adolfo is my song of this album at the moment. It flows very nicely

Lowkey he is starting to adress things which he was expected to do "like the rival" and very very criticized for

Congrats to him, this is huge from a cultural impact standpoint. The so called "Warriors - Tojours D'Attaque" are already pissed

apparently only celeo among atalakus was at the last ceremony

Wait so all the other atalakous in the studio making his tribute didn’t show up to the funeral? Make it make sense

9
Forgive me for asking, but who is he? Of F’Victeam i only know the singers who’ve been there forever, instrumentalists, and the Atalakous

RIP

Congolese Music / Re: Lets ask the AI about congolese music
« on: April 01, 2024, 18:07 »
Wow - I must say that the AI assessments are pretty on-point tot he point where it's scary

Wish him luck - part of me thinks his path will be like what Bronny James is going through now. Hope he doesn’t feel too pressured by critics have to follow in his father’s footsteps

Thanks guys for the welcome

le grand pretre welcome back, now only mfumu to come back there is soooooo many topics where his contribution would be helpful especially archive ones he's exceptional on that

Mfumu’s presence and knowledge is surely missed. Anyone has a direct line to him? A few bad eggs might’ve been the cause of departure

Wow, it’s been half a decade already. I remember being emotional that day in 2019 listening to Verre Cassé in particular. The greatest composer the genre has seen

Congolese Music / Re: Who was the soloist of Johnny Bokelo?
« on: March 30, 2024, 13:19 »

Tambola na mokili was played by Maitre Dizzy Mandjeku!

Dizzy Mandjeku played with many groups like Bella Bella, Afrisa International of Tabu Ley, Kossa Kossa, Grands Maquisards, Franco et TPOK Jazz, Orchestre Veve and African All Stars with Sam Mangwana

Johnny Bokelo was the main guitar soloist in many of his compositions.

In 1985, Caen Madoka joined Johnny Bokelo's Mbonda Africa. The track Sandoka made him very famous in Kinshasa.

Nice to see you on here Shaddy. Been following your YT channel for years

Hot take - Fally could've sung better Mayday for the hype it gets in my opinion. Imagine if he sang it with his QL/Droit Chemin voice… it’d be on another level. He does more justice to it singing live though
