Congolese Music / Re: Interesting band from Congo
« on: January 03, 2019, 20:07 »
I have been following Jupiter since he was discovered by the around 2005...I met him in Kin and he is one of the most serious and focused musician...
His latest album earned him a page and an article in the New York Times, a piece in the Guardian, Der Spiegel and many renowned world papers. I went to one of his concerts last summer in the US..and I tell you it was very entertaining...they seem to be getting a lot of money from the concerts....also after the US they did many concerts in Mexico.
He is a son of a diplomat who decided to go back to Congo and abbandon the rich and posh life.

Funny that Obama listens to him while not many on this forum care about him or even people in the Congo....I have a DVD about him that was made circa 2005...go on youtube and search Jupiters Dance.

He also collabotated with Damon Albarn.

Sad indeed..

Quick question @Archos is Calluggi back in Wenge for real?

I see Obouo music still behind him....Monsoh always likes shorter generiques like he did with JBs.

I give it a 6.

Not too shabby.

This has to Lofombo...this is some serious composing!

Did you notice that there are no Mabangas? Its very smooth....
This is one of best songs ever on recent years.

Finally turning around....promotion is taking off...Tabu is respected and watched by many.....and  it is good to see that he is also a big fan of Rendekita so that helps a lot...

 Part 2

Interesting points

1 ALexandrine was written by Arthur Kadima-Nzuji himself
2. All lyrics  are sent to Rasta Bob Deya who has the final say and is the master lyricis. He wrote the song of Llievain Ngasthie
3. Pire Pirate seems like it was directed to Werra (As Archos earlier pointed out) this is because he mentions two administors of WMM like Elliot Mondobe and considers them acquited from the wrongs of Werra..
4. He acknowledges JB, Dominguez and Makaba in the album and he has nice things to say about Mpela
5. Ziggy Marley/his young Bro did a phenomenal job in the album, he actually started singing before Blaise. He got in QL with Suzuki and Modogo, they were practicing at Bula's home.
6. Simon Lungalala  the 'owner' of the song bearing his name died but he was the first one to have paid so Blaise made sure that his song was the first on CD 2, and he has a lot of respect for him
7. Callugis intervention  was flowless
8. I believe its one of the Best albums in the past 2 years

Im wondering where was did he get all songs he "composed" in QL? The lyrics were quite good.... its just his featurings do not have good all!

Am 100% in agreement with the statement about Ferre!

Congolese Music / FALLY feat Alpha Blondy
« on: June 14, 2018, 23:08 »
Le Grand Alpha Blondy has continued his tradition to feature Congolese artists on his recent albums (Didi Kalombo "bal des combatus" Pierette Adams "sechez vos larmes" ). FALLY is featured on the current album "Human race" and the first single Kanou is available on Itunes and all the other platforms....not yet on Youtube... The full albums comes out in August.

I wish Fally could come up with better lyrics and stop repeating EL Mara when he sings.....All in all an okay song. Also its a slap to Koffi I would guess...
Also featured on the Album Angelique Kidjo and Youssou Ndour

Congolese Music / Re: Finallly; Nono Diamants testimony

Shes honest...very sad interview...she said that she had countless abortions...and she is not proud of it.
How much blood is on Koffis hands? Tokosuka wapi?

Ok I'm officially starting to get a bit nervous for Rendekita....Everyone is waiting for him in Kinshasa....on the music scene right now in Kin theres nothing buzzing...why is he doing this..

Ps. This is coming from one of his hardcore fans..

Wow petit Riguen

Wow El Dorado in the chorus of Ponderation 8...

Respect to Blaise

Sad to argue about these two guys who are both not as good really, even Retirada itself. I believe that Congolese music has gone soooo down. I personnally do not consider them leaders. They are not bringing the wow factor to Congolese music to the same level that some artists did in the 80s or 90s.
I always see their music as an appetizer while waiting for quality Congolese music from the likes of Bula , Karmapa, sometimes Koffi and even Ferre. It doesnt mean they are bad people though, dont get me wrong!!
