Now playing- 77x7..a tribute.

Nous Y Sommes is a Big Album.. rarely gets the hype it deserves among the Zaiko albums

We've waited so long for this and God has been gracious to keep all them safe and sound since 1998..

God Bless Amadou Diaby for this..

The team looks Great!
Indeed seems these guys had great love and respect for each other it seems.. before the chaos came in..

The Bataclan Concert of 1998 just came to mind...

That was one hell of a Performance.

Some Translation please for us non Lingala speakers..

I just Saw this like half an hour ago and had to rush here (because I don't understand much lingala) .. I knew there would be finer details as usual  :D Big up to all of you Guys for the details and research.. These are the kind of events that can make you Fly from Nairobi to Kinshasa unplanned just to witness..

These guys in their 50s still look ready to kick ass like they did in 1988-1998.

This is so exciting.

Easily could have been the best Band In Congolese Rhumba History....These Guys had the Best Synchrony  and telepathy on a track that you'd be tempted to assume they never really needed to practice.

The Guys have also done well to take care of themselves must say and most important God has kept them all safe so God willing they give us a monster of a treat. 24 years long overdue.

I didn't know much about Niarchos up until I randomly came across "Dernier coup de siflet"..

On researching there was very little info about him but for Sure.. Niarchos, Wemba n Bozi made a fantastic trio...
Dernier Coup de siflet and Nostalgie personelle are hot tracks.. good music..

I also came across an interview on youtube(I don't know much lingala.. I'm from Kenya but from the bits n pieces I could connect  I think Bozi was saying.. some people claim he abandoned Niarchos.. and others blame him for Niarchos' troubles.. I think even death...or something of the sort...

Does anyone have Any information about that story or their relationship?  I've also read somewhere that at some point Niarchos n Wemba had a disagreement and fell out. any info on this would be appreciated

Hard to call but....

If we were to talk of the best partnership...

Imo... The best Partnership ever I think was with Dalienst Ntesa.. considering Dalienst passed on at a relatively young age.. All their collaborations Were World class..

Plus you gotta respect the courage and guts they had to step aside from TPOK Jazz to do their projects.. and they Did even a better Job..

RIP to those 2 Heavyweights...

R.i.p to Le Commandant..

Really Sad news..

That Album with the late Dalienst Ntesa..#Legendary.. Iconic..

That unique voice.. one of the most distinct voices in the history of Congolese Rhumba.
My Favourite TPOK Jazz Members

 Legendary..

R.i.p Josky Kiambukuta

@Archos, next time you see or speak to Jb Mpiana, please tell him, No disrespect but.. we are very disappointed as fans.

Tell him to start this Album afresh coz this one seems like almost expired.
Tell him to look for Makaba, Titina,Ekokota and Callugi as his supporting Cast and make a Legendary Album because his current supporting cast Clearly is below par.
The above guys are the ones who can get the Best out of Jb, Especially Makaba. they may know where to spark the fire in him to get back to being the Best  Rhumba Artiste Ever, because honestly If JB even performs to 50% of his full potential. It will take Ages for any other artiste so get close to his class.

P.S

Its quite a long interview,  Can anyone help translate, My keen Interest is on the Niarchos part,  From my little french I can understand from the title is there are accusations towards Bozi for Niarchos' death.
What is the story?
Regards..

Congolese Music / Re: Surprising fact about Pouvoir
« on: May 25, 2019, 08:38 »
Musicians are difficult to deal with. Emeneya paid cars for his musicians and did everything to please them, but he only with 7 people in 2003. Adolphe Dominguez lost his head back in 2002 when alot of musicians decided to stay. He even let the rest of Wenge Tonya Tonya return by themselves and stayed in Europe to give the New Jack of Brussels alot of money to get for him Chibida Dumbu, Canard and Papillion back, but it didn't work.

I am reading these stories about the Late Madilu and how he used to treat his band members and must say his style of leadership is rather disappointing, like.  I know its mostly considered bad according to African culture to say something negative about a deceased person.
But in all honesty, I've never rated Madilu as an artiste very highly. I used to wonder why he got so much credit yet to me He was just another average guy, I know he has a big following and agree he was talented but I never saw nothing extra exceptional about him.
Although dealing with humans can be tricky as @mvulusi96 has given an example of Emeneya, doing things for his band and they still deserted him, but if its true he did things like leaving his band stranded in a foreign country its was just rather shameful as a  leader and an injustice to those band members, its like taking away their dignity. Taking people to Zambia or wherever from DRC then abandoning them in a foreign country its just shameful.

Guys, allow me to divert from the topic, About Bozi Boziana's Orchestre anti Choc. Been catching up on some old VHS clips of theirs "Pere Noel Confiance" Album to be specific then on further research I learnt that Lili Nedule passed away years ago. When was this? Was she ill or something? She seemed a much talented Lady.
Any Info on whereabouts of those Members?
Koffi Alibaba
Lapino
Betty
Skola
Flo
Last time I checked Deo Brando, he seemed tobhave had an issue with Fally, I didn't  get much because the interviews were in Lingala.

And She's not all that hott.. aaah. Am not his greatest fan but.. What was Fally thinking going that far.
But anyway, a man is still a man, we all trip at times, whether Superstar or Ordinary guy.

But did Lili Nedule passed away around 1996 after she Anti Choc?

@Drumstar98 About Lili Nedule, I been digging up some archives n I have come across her name but there seems to be very little info about her apart from being a fine lady with great dancing skills n a good voice and she was seemingly doing well under the mentorship of Bozi., though I know she was Papa Noel's Daughter.

I also learnt she passed on, Sadly. What was her story? any info?
