Congolese Music / Re: REDDY AMISI SAYS WITCHCRAFT HAS DESTROYED CONGOLESE MUSIC« on: January 09, 2023, 08:40 »
It is sad to see he is not talking about the real problems which is not witchcraft, but rather selfishness and everybody wanting to be the boss. This is not the way to run a successful band. Musicians are going more for success nowdays than doing quality thing. What matters is having the album not how the album sounds. Now, in that circumstance it is not a surprise the culture is declining. There was witchcraft in the 60's, 70's and 80's as well, the music scene was not like today even so.

I had the exact same opinion about the sebene when I listened to that song long ago. 4
Old School Music / Interesting documentary of Zairean music in the 80's« on: December 17, 2022, 09:55 »
I haven't noticed this up to know. Very interesting to see how the music sceen looked like in the 80's, the circumstance our favourite bands opearated in, the nightlife and local gigs, that we rarely see on footages.

Congolese Music / Re: Beniko Popolipo plays 77X7 and Vimba« on: December 14, 2022, 09:51 »
It is Payment Cash not 77x7. The latter is the solo of Daniel, but this one is his own, so to say. The rest are later solos, that is correct.
I would be quite interested in seeing him playing Daniel. Not this time. 8
Congolese Music / How is it this concert video has PROZAL logo?« on: December 06, 2022, 00:12 »
I wonder why this one has Prozal logo on it? The band management found it and issued it recently, or what?

While he had many good songs, there is always one that his name reminds me of all the time:

Congolese Music / Re: Bilenge Musica International - nice keyboards and vocals« on: November 29, 2022, 23:58 »Is there a biography of this band? But where is he from actually? He is from the Congolese minority in Kenya, or from Congo? 12

Not more than you can find generally on Google:
https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/entertainment/local-news/article/2000113408/congolese-artist-lesasa-jocker-to-tour-kenya They had some nice tunes in the 90's: But this video I shared initially seems to be Ferre Gola instead. When Lesasa shared this video I thought they are backing Ferre in the video, but it seems to me these are not them but Ferre's own group. I am not sure because I am not following Ferre, but anyhow, the song performed on stage sounds much better to me than the studio version on Youtube, where the instruments are a bit boring to me. On stage it is way much better. 14
Congolese Music / Bilenge Musica International - nice keyboards and vocals« on: November 27, 2022, 23:19 »
A video recently posted by Lesasa Jocker, the head of the band in Dubai. Very nice keyboards, and stunningly clean vocals. I rarely hear so clean vocals live.
