JB has become dormant musically hence critics focussing on his off stage life,he has himself to blame.

2
He had no choice, wasn't he rejected at Maison Mere?
I haven't seen Maty De Gaulle in Maison Mere videos, did he make it or was he rejected?

Very informative! Thanks Marta archos. So But na Fille comes a long way too,I love that guy,his song is simply the best on the album, very good composition and arrangement.

It was a bold move by Fabregas and it has paid off,he did well to go solo!

It's amazing how Matadien has turned into an excellent singer at Jet Set,he was really struggling at Maison Mere trying to fit in Ferre's shoes.
Prince has really mastered the art of singing and truly becoming his own man instead of constantly trying to fit in his father's shoes too.

Those saying we did not discuss the Kapaya song featuring Bill,Celeo, Werra,Eboa and others, maybe you were not members of this  forum. We discussed that track which archos has rightly stated as what was meant to be Kapaya's song on the album Temps Present hence the difference in sound quality too.

We overwhelmingly concluded it was a cut and paste job where one half was recorded first and the second half later.

Congolese Music / Re: SUNDA BASS LEAVES WENGE BCBG

Am back in Zambia guys, briefly visited my kids in the UK in May to July, now resettled back in Zambia after 15 years.
Internet is crap and expensive but soon they are rolling out fibre broadband which has been restricted to corporate entities the last few years so I will be more online soon.

Yes, his own guitar looks like the one Tolbert is holding but is in black and has a couple of stickers. He has had it since the Wenge Musica days and it's the same one he carried when BCBG last played in London.
It looks like a cheaper version of Alain Makaba's headless Steinberger guitar like in below pic.

Good move, though a good bassist, Sunda was too clean and relaxed, these days bass guitarists are pulling those strings hard like soloists, time for tapping on four strings like Sunda did is gone!! I hope the other mikulis can fuck off too. I had even forgotten BCBG exists, such a useless entity, always the same shit on stage, you can even predict what song they will play next in a concert and not forgetting the stupid useless trademark dance by Genta,JDT and JB then you have a useless Marketing Director always standing on stage with other guys we have gotten used to the last 20 plus years. ;D ;D

Nice one!

Personally I put V12 on top of the pile. The best followed by Loi and Effrakata in that order
I see, personally, Loi and Effrakatta are on top especially coz of the balance between sebene and rhumbas, V12 which was a less popular album was only good coz of the soothing rhumba songs.

My last point about those fellas saying there is a bias towards Wenge, you must be reminded that it's not just bias but influence Wenge had. It is Wenge that toppled Zaiko from the top and woke Koffi up, Koffi started competing against Wenge and recruited an ataluku who sounded like Roberto Enkokota. In Brazza, Extra Musica too copied Wenge. Apart from Franco's TPOK Jazz, Zaiko and Viva, it's Wenge which has been flying the flag high for Congo no wonder Koffi has been at war with all Wenge leaders since time immemorial. Even when you look on the market today,it's clan Wenge dominating, beside Koffi himself, the only other successful artist from Clan Quartier Latin is Fally ipupa so far but Wenge has JB,Werra and young Ferre leading consistently and below them,we have new younger artists from their bands aking it big like Fabregas, Robinio Mundibu and others.

Loi, certainly Koffi's most powerful before Effrakatta but both still force people on the dancefloor en masse today.

Now with those arguments about the source of the animation and dance ndombolo,it is actually useless!! By now all experienced critics should know the actual source of animation and dances in Congolese music. Who releases a dance and animation first can claim ownership just for banter but the source is the streets!

If you watch concert dvd's or even listen to less popular albums of back then, you may be surprised to hear ndombolo, ndombolo before it even came out on JB's Feux de l'amour ,Koffi's Loi and Defao's Sala Noki albums even to date, we still hear shegues claiming ownership of some animation and dances by major bands. Right now,we have a shegue who sells at markets,he is doing animation and the likes of Bill and others are being found with him, next we will hear his animation being done by bands because it's proving popular.

That is a weird request and interest,Congolese music is not arranged like that, i can't think of any, what are you trying to do anyway? Kiekiekie
