Congolese Music / REFLECTIONS ON 2017
« on: December 30, 2017, 03:43 »
Since 2017 is coming to an end I feel like it's time we reflect back on this past year and the music that has been released I feel like this year has been Ferre's year (excluding the recent polemique) QQJD was what I feel the album of the year even though I'm more of a sebene guy than rhumba I did enjoy the album, Nyataquance was nothing new to me same old stuff from koffi but surprisingly the generique has been doing okay and is played at clubs and parties with the dance ya ba boss. Werras' album 7 Jours was okay I wasn't really that into it unlike some others it had cool songs here and there but I wasn't a fan of the autotune, Fally's Tokoss was well not the best thing I heard but it was a decent attempt from him he just didn't try enough but surprisingly or not I should say some songs are being played and eloko yo wasn't well received in the beginning but it's been doing well I also enjoyed Cursus by Light Music Villa Nova I thought it was decent and also recently Cappucino's new album was great which was ruined by the bad mixing of the generiques
Overall I do think 2017 Belongs to Ferre Gola lol it's my opinion but everyone's free to contribute
Thoughts?

Congolese Music / AHH I JUST LOVE THIS SEBENE FROM FERRE
« on: December 23, 2017, 19:58 »

I even forgot about this song then I found it on Spotify through my playlist radio great vocals from Mirage, Celezino, Serge Mabiala, Biva Ray and of course Ferre himself and I've said this before I love it when he does animation and once more fantastic drumming by titina like always

None other then Mboshi lipassa this guy is one of the greats but no one EVER mentions him from some fans and artists themeselves they always give praise to likes of tutu, celeo, brigade, bill and even CNN co but mboshi is always left out for some reason when people talk about ndombolo they always give tutu the credit but not mboshi which I thinks was better even guys here like JV and Jdog have admitted they never danced to wenge ndombolo neither did I, every time mboshi performed in his prime it was electrifying especially in the danger de mort era whilst apocalypse was making noise

« on: November 01, 2017, 23:27 »

Just a day after visiting koffi as well lol, I was actually wondering how his relationship with both werra and jb was cause ever since he got close with koffi again their names faded a lot from his interviews and vice Versa

12

Like damnnnnn I've always said it I think Mboshi's version of ndombolo is the best

13
If he was allowed to join bcbg how things could have been different and bcbg itself just a thought
