It's  the Engombi album. It came out in 1997. Somono was already in Quartier Latin. He only left in  1998.

Did Koffi let him participate?

You can hear him here for instance :

I don't put Biso ba Biso in the same category. Biso ba Biso was more Hip-Hop than Pop and it was not really mainstream.

I remember laughing like a baby when I suddenly saw Sam Tshintu appear in this video.

It sounds like late 80's Pepe Kalle soukous.

It sounds like one.

Ah Mère Élizabeth...

Some may say it's for MJ30 or just an imaginary person. However, the lyrics and the timing match too perfectly.

Maika Munan?

Rigo Star?

Sec Bidens?

Alain Makaba?

Flamme Kapaya?

What do you guys think?

Those big numbers are in majority cooked by record labels and management firms.

Congolese Music / Le Karmapa - Mama Yemo (Official video)

Nice song, nice video concept, and beautiful girls.

Good job.

It was a good album. Even though it was not rumba, and I'm a purist, it was still a very good crossover. To me, it remains till this day the best mix of congolese music and western urban sonority.

My explanation is that it came too late, 1993. The new jack/jerk era was coming to its end. Things would've been different if it came out earlier like intended, maybe in 1989 or 1990.

What do you think?

I like the way he did the mabanga at the end of Mindondo and Enfant de Maman. Very ingenious and nicely blended with the music.

The live version is excellent.

I think outside of Koffi (it seems like he's about to do it), that reunion, like they are doing for the album, is the only set up able to reach the 31 000 seats set up Koffi is using.
What do you think?

Also, I think Ferre, Werra, or JB can take Zenith at full capacity, but nothing higher.

I'm sure Fall's camp might be tempted to use them bots to boost views of Allo Téléphone.

Fally is making a mistake by targetting Innos. You can't win against a kid half your age and whose fan base is composed of teenagers.

Congolese Music / What happened to Roger Ngandu???

I don't see the guy anymore. Is he still with JB?

Bill added some things of his own sauce but the main ingredients of style were already done by Djuna Mumbafu.

Congolese Music / In loving memory of Patrice Emery Lumumba

Today is the day PE LUMUMBA was killed.

So let's remember him with music dedicated to him.

May His soul rest in peace.

His dream will come thru one day...

On a side note : nobody today can make song like these. They're busy only praising scammers and prostitutes.

Hello everyone,

My name is Paysan Congolais and I'm new to this board.

Like all of you, I'm a big lover of congolese music and I hope, for that reason, that we will get along well.
