This past few days I have been watching a lot of Dakumuda clips and some old Radja kula. The choreography is impeccable and so many dances you could pick. But now it’s so boring also I think a reason why congolese music is falling behind.
This has been my song of the month even and there’s a part of it at 4:25 of “ahhhh Kibinda eyyy , ah Kibinda ya yo” and I wanted to know what other songs have this animation because it’s now stuck in my head.
It seems to be a late 90s Rumba group in Japan that produced a good quality album in a style I think similar to a blend of Choc stars and Zaiko also some Victoria influence. Anybody have information
In my personal opinion it is Heritier because of the quality of his last released album, his follow up single and features , quality of his live performances too. Thoughts?
Two songs with some sebene in them. I like some of the songs on the album it has even some traditional more standard rumba sounds too as well as his usual urban sound too. I can do a whole review picking out the notable songs if someone wants.
I just wanted to ask a couple questions on the topic on song making and production. Firstly hog the last two generations apart from Koffi and wazekwa has anyone wrote any of their songs at all (Ferre, JB , Werra, Fally, Heritier etc) or do they all have writers.
Furthermore, how much influence do artists have on the song making for example the tempo changes, when it’s a lead vocal or choir vocal, sebene introductions etc etc. Or is it all down to creative directors like Phillipe Guez and the instrumentalists?
I could only pick 5 so I Chose these 5 excluding the live ones and Heritiers Mi Demon ones. If you choose another one that is not there comment it and if it gets enough comments then that can be a winner too. Honourable mentions: Likemba - Ibrator, Bercy Mwana - Feint, Extra musica - Bokoko, Viva la musica - Sans Kobanga, Kabose - Lufu , Baudry Obama - POINT D'INTERROGATION, Mignon Abraham - Benediction.
Really good EP had it on repeat recently, I believe these are the people as well as other young new people we should push to get them having careers and ensure the scene develops whether it’s newer sounds or Traditional Sounds. He is signed to Bomaye Musik
