Congolese Music / Congolese bass guitar tutorials
« on: June 20, 2017, 22:41 »
Ok guys. I've been learning the bass guitar for the past 8 months and can now play one sebene in the key of G. I now think that I'm good to learn more but the difficulty I face is that there aren't many tutorials on YouTube and worse still none in English. Some of you play or know some genius bass players out there that you can record showing how to play the most common sebene progressions.

So this is just a long shot to ask if anyone of you could be so kind as to record a video or videos to upload on Youtube so that we can learn how to play this great music. If not I'd be grateful if you could point me in the direction to where  I can receive help please.

So far, these are some of the videos ive used. The first and second are excellent for showing the keys and how to play....... the last video is mind blowing and that's what I'm aspiring for.

Congolese Music / Was Fally ever in Nouvelle Image Jazz Band?
« on: September 12, 2015, 18:55 »
If not why is he copying their style? Someone......Archos, JDog, Newside...... educate me please.........I loved Nouvelle Image Jazz especially around 1996 when Doudou was the animateur and I have the album they made thereafter. I've got a few VHS videos and believe me, I have been looking for the past 3 months but do not have any that features Fally. If its the case that he is pillaging this once great band, then he is a fucking cheat...........but I am willing to forgive him for reviving this beat

Listen to Sonzo - Libre Parcours & Mungala - Kosa Leka

Here is Doudou Kibinda the Stalwart of Nouvelle Image

Congolese Music / UK Combatants – Urgent Help Needed
« on: October 25, 2013, 11:56 »
To Archos & the Lingala Speakers I need urgent help

Last night I was watching a YouTube video and came across a video of some so called combatants. Now these bunch of dim-witted elementary school drop outs seem to be ushering threats against JB Mpiana and are warning that they do not want his concert to take place. My Lingala is not perfect and this is why I need help…… but make no mistake. These fools live in London & I’m glad to say that UK has statutory instruments to protect the rights of citizens and enable them to conduct their business without fear of violence, terrorism or any other such shit. Anyone that violates those rights, risks prosecution & thats what I intend to do.

Here are the videos

If the threat to JB Mpiana is explicit about intended harm to his person, then that is contrary to S.16 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861 which says that:
1.   You have made a threat to kill (either spoken or by your actions), and
2.   You intended that the victim would fear the threat would be carried out
Additionally, prosecution can also be sought under The Terrorism Act 2000 where
(1) In this Act "terrorism" means the use or threat of action where-
(a) the action falls within subsection (2),
(b) the use or threat is designed to influence the government [or an international governmental organisation] or to intimidate the public or a section of the public, and
(c) the use or threat is made for the purpose of advancing a political, religious [, racial]]or ideological cause.
(2) Action falls within this subsection if it-
(a) involves serious violence against a person,
(b) involves serious damage to property,
(c) endangers a person's life, other than that of the person committing the action,
(d) creates a serious risk to the health or safety of the public or a section of the public, or
(e) is designed seriously to interfere with or seriously to disrupt an electronic system.

I therefore need a detailed translation transcript i.e. minute by minute translation of what these fools are saying, in particular the parts where they make explicit threats to JB Mpiana or the people that intend to attend concerts. I will put together dossier and file a complaint with the police. If you come across any video made by any of the cowards resident in UK & you feel that the threats made are sufficient to cross the threshold under the section above or the Act, please download & keep a copy first & post a link here.

Lets take the fight to these wanna be street warriors and bring them down.

Congolese Music / Forum Name
« on: July 22, 2013, 12:10 »
Thank you Mr Admin for getting us another site. May I suggest a moderate forum name like vibes'delengi or something to that effect. Congovibes is ok but a bit"specialist" in the sense that the name suggest everything is about Congo and not music in general.

Thank you
