Congolese Music / This could have created a big polemic
« on: October 07, 2022, 18:04 »
I just came across this song from extra musica international of Quentin Moyasko  with the same style as Bokoko of roga . Lucky this one came out 6 years prior to bokoko.
I just wonder how why this didn’t take off as Bokoko. Is it because it’s commercial song or jus lack of luck???

Congolese Music / Plagiarism or a simple coincidence

Fridays has always been my old school day . Being from both side kin and Brazzaville I divided to listen some 80s song from both side and I came across these two songs
One from Afriza (tabu ley ) and the other from télé musique from Brazzaville
I’m not sure if it’s only me but the similarity is really present on both songs

Congolese Music / RIP Patty molesso
« on: July 31, 2022, 23:34 »
According to do aKongo facebook page. Patty molesso just passed away due to a long term illness.
Patty was well know in madilu and wenge bcbg where He played at bercy and anti terri. He also collaborated with Koffi and lokua kanza.
He was great guitarist ( solo)

Except zulema, who else do you recognize here… just a little hint he is a producer now

It’s been announced on the official Facebook page of the group the Kassoul passed away. The cause of death was not mentioned. And papy Bastin also lost his child. Both news were posted the same day

Fernand Mabala( RIP) in Yatama The real magic starts from 5:32 min I always wonder who played that solo … I have not seen any soloist trying to play this partition

Here we have chairman jack koyo first single  Marja  in featuring with Rovias Andampot . It had such huge  success in Brazzaville that verkys decided to bring him in kin to redo it with défao, debaba and Carlito. Unfortunately I still can find it on YouTube

Rovias amdampot  right before the huge success of extra musica first album or around the same era. I do recall my dad listening to this song over and over when we were on vacation in brazza quartier ouenze

It kind of crazy  how Brazzaville music sounded so unique and far different from back then Zaire music . You could really tell the difference between both side until extra musica came and messed up everything thing

Congolese Music / Who could have made it as an atalaku
« on: May 01, 2021, 16:10 »
Between Koffi  werra an Jb
Who do you think could have made it as an atalaku.
They all have at some points animated in their past albums and concerts and they all have in my opinion done a great job.
Werrason  in mulolo and kine bouger

Koffi in wake up and V12

Jb in some concerts

Congolese Music / La reference version Kester
« on: December 07, 2020, 22:03 »

I know im kind of late . but came across this version of la reference of papa wemba. To be honest im quite surprised to hear rhis version for the first time even though it actually came out decade ago..  I wonder how papa wemba felt about this one knowing the unfinished beef the had back in day.. Was this done when they were in good terms?
Was it a kester or nyboma idea to record it with africando. By the way i just realised that papa wemba never record a song with africando.

Congolese Music / Wich one would you go for
« on: July 03, 2020, 20:44 »
I have been watching the beef between celeo and his bro mbuta on one side mbuta stating that he made celeo who is today. And stuff like that and on the other side celeo saying the usual (truth with some splash of craziness in it). To me o belive whay mbuta says about celeo is a bit true. But i was wondering if both of their  prime albums were to come out at same period what ablum do you think would have had more success ? Nzoto na nzoto(celeo) vs attention obus (mbuta likassu) .. Im not just talking of generique but the whole album. Which one would the best.
