Who is Mayi Ya Kamba? And is he any good? Would like to hear his previous work. Very glad it’s not Ong Back Solo

Congolese Music / Re: MAKABA AND SHIDA BETWEEN THE GUYS WHO LEFT WERRA IN EUROPE« on: September 13, 2023, 15:29 »This is the soloist recruited three months ago Ong Back Solo doesn't convince me. Im surprised a lot of you aren't fans of Makaba. He's improved a lot since he first came. I like his aggressive and simple style, and the fact he doesn't try too hard to be like Kapaya. If you listen to the repetitions from the last couple years Makaba did a great job. Only maybe Sarah solo can come back but im not sure. Freddy Movadi: Ong Back Solo Vs Makabe Ong Back Solo: Starts at 15:44 Makaba solo: Starts at 20:20 It's not even close. Makaba is way better and Ong Back Solo should stay at rhythem. They need to find a better replacement. 5

Ah wow so it’s confirmed. Who’s going to replace Makaba? I have a hard time believing someone can pick up where he left off

What about the guitarist Makaba Arc en Ciel? If he’s gone I truly think it’s over for werrason. He was the reason I still kept listening to all of the repetitions/concerts until now.

I thought they were supposed to perform in a theater? I saw that they were in a small gym. Was it the stupid combatants again?

Congolese Music / Re: TEASER NEW GENERIQUE NZOUNGOU BY ROGA ROGA« on: August 21, 2023, 15:25 »
It’s sad because if he did a fire generique and had a music video similar to the Quality of the Bokoko video, that would’ve taken off as well. The priorities are really messed up with this genre. Minimum effort, maximum popularity

“You used to dance Bokoko, but now another banger!” I cracked up when I heard that. You gotta be kidding me lol he’s so out of touch with his music it’s not even funny

Congolese Music / Re: Werrason live at Nuit de la Francophonie« on: August 08, 2023, 17:12 »Totally agreed! If we're being honest, no one in this genre is killing it at the moment and have fallen off from their glory days. At least with Werrason, and JB at times I still really enjoy their rehearsals, concerts and practice sessions.Like?so nobody on this forum likes Werrason ?Werra is a legend but as of right now……there are other artists and bands better than Werra and Maison Mere. 13

I don’t know why, I can’t pin point it but I like their smaller concerts/repetitions a lot better. They are way too conservative when it comes to the bigger concerts. Same with werrason at times.

Congolese Music / Re: Does it make sense to have 6/7 atalaku's when just recording rumba albums ?« on: August 04, 2023, 06:56 »
On top of that they always perform the sebene songs from their classic 90s albums all the time. Like they'll rarely produce new sebene songs so they always revert back to the ones in concerts. How about keeping that same energy and have only rhumba concerts? Because they know it will flop
