Congolese Music / Re: FALLY'S FIRST DRUMMER WAS A BEAST

But Fally way of paying changed over the time? Because nowadays a lot of his musicians say that he pays them good money

Government in Africa are only puppet guys controlled by you know who to divide us as Africans, I mean Genocide of Bakogo in Angola, like hate campaign in Congo DR, Rwanda and Burundi being involved in the Hutu and the Tutsi genocide, South African government killing the black people who came there for work when they were facing apart heid and so much more, I mean it is heartbreaking seeing my Africa being reduced like this by greedy people who only care about money and power.

JB is a very rich man who has very loyal fans that treats him like a king, he makes sure that everyone on his group are paid so he doesn't feel that he needs to do much he think like "Well I am giving these guys good life and the chance to play in the best group of the world, so who cares if the album is still not out"

I took some time to answer and, OK, African federation aren't perfect (Camerun for example made everything being laid by Eto'o or almost everything) but I think we need more pride, and be very conscious about our history, how some people who treated us like animals cutting our hands, making ourselves fighting against eachother trying to erase our culture could be the person for who we play soccer for? I mean Benteke and Romelu Lukaku speak in Lingala most of the times between themselves, Makelele made interview with Sankara introducing him to Zidane and Blaise Matuidi said that even though he is Angolan he speaks lingala, so I really don't understand all this love of playing for European teams and then getting booed when things starts to getting worse, I wish all those guys would be back on their national teams, in fact I have noticed that many guys from Western African French Colonies (Mali, Ivory Coast, Senegal especially) play for their homeland, for example Keita (born in Spain), M'Baye Niang (born in France) Alfred Gomis (grown in Italy) that have chosen their hometown land.

Hey hey hey, Sir's easy easy, I am not saying Koffi is not  a great musician, I have always said it in every post that everything he drops is unique I mean, Loi was everywhere when I was little and until my 15 years that song was everywhere, EVERYONE, literally EVERYONE knows that song, not only Congolese or Angolan, Beninois, Ivoirien, Nigerian, South Africans, Malians, Central Africans EVERYBODY, know what Loi is, my point is that Koffi is legendary as a musician but as a human being hmmm not so much, and guys please let's stop saying that we bash only Koffi, I don't know how.many times JB's name got insulted in 2017 and I don't know how much criticism Werra, Ferre have gotten especially Ferre for that Davina's affair and Werra for that son he had with a dancer, and Fally everybody on the forum except someone said Tokos was a shitty album, but you only pay attention when we speak about Koffi's behaviour come on

@Manzambi, we are here as musical lovers not as moral police. As for morals only God is the judge for those who believe in God......You cannot change Koffi's behaviour so you either accept him as flawed as a person as he is and embrace his musical genius or ignore him altogether if you cannot stand his behaviour. But the Bible says something about him who is blameless casting the first stone. You like bashing Koffi for his behaviour, are you sinless yourself?
Of course I am not sinless, but I think that if you are a role model, like many artists are not only Koffi you need to be a little bit mor moral then other people I mean I think is hugely hypocritical (not only Koffi, but even Werra, Fabro etc.) to sing songs on how much God bless them on how good Christians or good religious people should be and then act like they are Satan's children, but beside that at the end of the day it is only music yes.

Diego also from MM even though I can understand he is easy to forget lol, the crazy fact is that most of.the official atalaku of BCBG, not almost, all of them has never left, even though Cellulaire left but then went back to JB, it is crazy I mean, Ben Laden and Pajo 14 years with only few cries and sometimes doesn't even participating to the main generique, what about Ruth Nzele the female atalaku of Ferre, how much years she made?

Congolese Music / BELGIUM'S NATIONAL TEAM OT
« on: April 24, 2018, 18:41 »
It is not regarding music, but why our players (Congolese & Angolans) doesn't have any pride at all? If you check all the generation of the national team of Belgium and France especially there a lot of players of Congolese origin's or Angolan mainly Congolese (because Angolan people are more good at basket then that they are at soccer) and the shcokimg fact is that sometimes those Congolese players aren't even born in Belgium in France or Portugal but in Congo or Angola.
Listen the players who would have played for Congo. Mandanda, Denayer, Kompany, Lukaku Jordan and Romelu, Benteke, Makelele, and those who would have played for Angola Cavanda, Matuidi, William Carvalho, Vidigal, João Mario,

The sad fact is that one of the Belgian/Congolese players Batshuayi said that he is not Congolese at all, for nothing at all, and he is black only because of his parents and he is totally Belgian.
Those words really shocked me I mean why our people doesn't respect our own roots? I mean it is OK to play for Belgium but saying that you are black only because of your parents means that you have some sort of hate for your country.

In the meantime both Lukaku became superstars Kompany was regarded as one of the best of the European defenders ever, William Carvalho and João Mario won the European Cup, and Matuidi won a lot of titles with PSG and now play for the first club in Italy the Juventus.
Do you imagine if all those players choosed wisely?

Bundes you are right but Loi had a crazy success, legendary, to make equivalence it would be 100 million views on YouTube and way much more on Spotify, but yes Koffi is a huge huge liar and not a very good human being always trying to be sneaky about things.

Ndeko @Manzambi almost nobody is selling 100k, 250k albums anymore (Now most American artists are now even struggle to 50k CD sales). Streaming has completely changed the game... and the problem with streaming as we discussed a while back is that until you hit a million streams, revenue is not that much.

The flip side it, is our Artists are making more money than in the past with the African tours they do multiple times a year. Many of their contracts are more than what Zenith level concerts brought in the past.

Also, you'd be shocked how little of the concert money musicians get. I always remeber when Baby Ndombe said that Werra got a $250k bonus from the Obiang family in 2002... he gave 10 WMM member $100 each as their cut. To this day Baby hates Werra for stuff like that he did to WMM employees
Yes but many times money enter always in Boss's homes especially Werra, Bill, Celeo, Koffi and JB, but their musician status depends on how much good they are, you will rarely hear musicians complaining about JB or Kpffi's payments while is well known that Werra, Bill, Fabregas (almost all Ex-Wenge) are waaay stingy especially Bill who is a millionaire but split way little money with his employees.

Congolese Music / Re: SO J.COLE'S NEW ALBUM "KOD"
« on: April 23, 2018, 19:40 »
J. Cole is a great rapper, I was honestly surprised when he made this verse

Talking straight and saying facts like this in USA can get you trouble, in fact his brother Kendrick got forced to remove blacker the berry from everywhere and you can find only a little live version of the song.
Anyway I like how KOD (KIDS ON DRUGS A.K.A. KING OVERDOSE) actually take a very strong position against all these pills and heavy drugs culture young people are banging these days

How do these guys even make money in 2018 other than donors? Do those shows in Angola and Kenya really pay that well that it can be split 36 ways? Its a great idea and I commend him for that but that was needed in 1998 when artists were selling our shows and selling CDs and VHS. Now other than youtube money and donors I really wonder where else they earn the money from. Because I dont know if thats enough money to be split but what would I know.
Usually, taking Ferre's example which easily can sell 250000 copies of CD's it gives you a very good pay even if you are a musician, because in Kinshasa the life cost for living a king life and eat well is 200$ so imagine how Ferre, Fally, Werra, Koffi, etc. live.
Let's make that Jeritier does a 10$ concert in a "rich" country like Angola or In Côte d'Ivoire where people loves Congolese music 2000 people join and 20000 dollars are made let's share 5000 for the organization, manager etc. And split those 15000 tooling 5000 away for heritier into his musicians 10000:36 it is 277 dollars moltiplicate those tour for 10,20, 30 times and you will see that even musicians have a good amount of money, did you ever asked why even though Eboa, Deplick, Kabose etc. aren't the most known singers they always get quality video? Even Robinio when he just started fresh out of Wenge had already 2,3 good videos.
Add the CD money for example Ferre's 250000 sold discs for 10 dollars add tours and so on you will see that they are a lot of money, even Bill who doesn't produce quality material is a milionaire, because after all the CDs and tours there are commercials and donors money so it is a win win if you have got a big name and for musician if they do get paid

I don't like to insult people or wish them bad things, but I think that Karma it is a force to be reckon with, you cannot insult and tear down other people and esect loyalty from the so called "closed friends" usually guys like Roger Ngandu are full of yesmans who are only there for the money.

EXPLANATION AND CRIE VALUTATION

FRASOLOGIE: 8

The vocal range of this guy it is amazing and if he keep it up he could be a valid atalaku, the problem is that the lyrics are waaay too much over sexualized but at least they are funny Fabro did a really great work of finding valid atalakus, what I like about Frasolpgie also is that he has a lot a lot of scenic presence.

ARCHIEGNANCE: 8
A little bit overshadowed by Frasogie, but has better lyrics and the same scenic presence, I wish he had more space to develop his own crie without following Fras's one.

NEYMAR: 10

This guy is a genius musically him and Thierry synthe to me are competing for the number one spot on that synthe department no disrespect to Jeremy Kitubu and Cedric Guez.

VIDEO: 10

I have choosed to use this video for lyrics because it is on point I mean whoever had the idea of the video and developed (kudos to Dan Scott the director) deserve some very sincere compliments, one of the best video visually in the Congolese music if not the best

ANALYZES
Lokolo literally means the leg but in Congolese culture it is usually the word that people say when they want to dance: "landa lokolo" follow the leg literally but it means actually to dance to the rhythm or "zwa lokolo" take the leg which means follow the wave follow the dance, and it is interesting because Fabregas here along with Neymar uses the Boniomai rhythm made popular by Mabele Elisi made in modern form something that a lot of Bangala musician do, since Mabele Elisi it considered to be the king (until he was alive) of Folkloristics music, even though these seems like a dance song to get over and dance it is actually a description of a guy who goes in Pakadjuma (a very very known district in Congo) which is known for the beauty of their prostitutes, when Fras and Archie said things like "I am starting to save money" or "Love is like a bottle of sugar, Fras is saying that since he is not getting free sex by his lover/or that he avoids stable relationship, he will save money so he can go to Pakadjuma, while Archie is saying that since love is like a bottle of sugar, his love for his old lover is over so even though he still is with her, he will fuel the sugar into his love life by going to Pakadjuma, the Lokolo ya Pembe, Ya Choco, Mwundu is allowing to the fact that in Prostitutes streets like in a store you have got lot of different things you can choose, so the same with prostitutes, prostitutes with light skin tone, darksine tone chocolate tone etc.
