Oh he was actually a songwriter?

How did he get into recording songs?

I wonder how the likes of him and Modogo Gianfranco Ferre begin to record songs.

Because I know they were people of higb influence regarding clothes, sappeurs.

What are your top 5 emotional songs you've ever heard in Congolese music ? Or you can name me your favourite emotional song.

My one is Papa Wemba *Maman*. But i have few other emotional songs that gets to me like Carlyto & Malage *Calamite*, Pepe Kalle & Nyboma *Nina*, Koffi Olomide *non assistance* there's a lot from Koffi that are emotional that I like. There's so many to name but my favourite one is Maman by Papa Wemba.

Congolese Music / Structure of album songs
« on: October 07, 2020, 00:40 »
How would you describe the way artists usually structure out their songs. Is there a reason why artists choose songs in certain orders to appear on the CD?

Like for example,

From 90s to 2006 I know that albums usually kick off with a generique then the next song after is usually rumba then the next song could be a rumba/seben and so on.

But obviously nowadays it's 1. Generiques then 2-11 rumba. Rarely see rumba/seben.

Because I look at some of the tracklists and say they put the songs in the best order it could be in. There's been some albums where I feel like the last track was poor and as a result it wasn't a good ending to the album.

There's been other albums where from start to finish it's been a masterpiece.

Congolese Music / Strevos.. Strervos.. Stervos?
« on: August 07, 2020, 15:12 »
How is his name spelt? Strervos, Strevos or Stervos?

Its unbelievable how different albums have it spelt differently. Like don't the artists check that their names are spelt correctly?

I've seen for example Carlyto, then Carlitto, Carlito. Like why?

I'm trying to update my S Niarcos' albums on my phone with the correct spelling but I see 3 different types. I want to know the actual spelling.

Unbelievable. I don't like my music on my phone having spelling errors. Or missing the album cover art.

Congolese Music / Question 2: Quality of music produced.
« on: July 31, 2020, 15:37 »
I'd also like to discuss on which decade would you consider to be the best in terms of the quality of the music that came out.

(Please don't think that the quality of music only means the instrumental and how clear it is.

It also means to include the level of productivity and it's impact, consistency to produce great music. The themes, lyrcis, the whole package.

So Which decade was the most enjoyable in terms of music quality etc)

Choose from the following decades

The 70s
The 80s
The 90s
The 2000s
The 2010s

Which decade produced the best music, a good solid 10 years quality music?

What are your thoughts?

Whether it's the dance, rumba, soukous .. or politics and music,  or sapeur and music. Whatever reason it is.

Choose from the following decades

The 70s
The 80s
The 90s
The 2000s
The 2010s

Which decade would you consider the most influential?

On the Solange Muana Suka LP of 1992, that album is very rare like Wenge Live (1990) (remix-album of Mulolo). The album had the songs of Mulopwe, Savon Santé, etc.

Ahhh antuka, I need to start digging for this gold. Unbelievable.

That LP is beautiful, I've seen the clips but ahhh getting the actual song is hard. I will find it.

I'm having my Defao day, just listening to his music.

They're saying dernier album 95 but that's like remixed I think. I need the original of this song's album..

Wait. Sam is the same generation with Fally Ferre? Wow, something like this could be easily erased due to their current statuses in music today.

But how is the generation decided? Is it on age or based on when they made their debut under a top musician how?

If Sam is the same gen with Fally etc then it's just weird, I would've seen those who came before Fally Heritier as a generation above but that generation above is Koffi werra etc right?

Can someone give me Like few examples of names from each generation so I can u understand this properly. Thank you, because I've never known how they decide it because I don't think it's based on age only.

If she only knew that her mother took Ma’Gode’s place and everything to finish that marriage. When Didi was born, Koffi still with Rocky’s mother.
Wait what? What do you mean?

Yeah I heard Koffi already had a song dedicated to Aliya on Noblesse Oblige. I've seen the pic of him and Aliya .. that pic has to be 1993 because he's wearing the papa plus outfit in that pic.

And yeah he was still with somebody else.

I don't even understand it.

Aristote and Minou same mum.

Rocky different mum?

And what about Elvis? Who's his mum.?

The only reason why I'm curious to know his kids and who their mothers are is because I've listened to all of his songs from 1983 to 1989. Ive heard all of his 80s songs and I've heard on different records of different kids he gave shootouts to.

I just didn't understand how many of them are there and if they have different mothers or not. Rocky lives in England. Minou too. Aristote as well.

But this Elvis guy I don't know

Koffi is a polygamist. In the 80s he started a relationship with Godelive Stephanie (Also known as Stephie and Gode), but he had on the same time also a relationship with Marianne Makosso who's the mother of Artistote & Minou, they divorced somewhere in the early 90s. Koffi dedicated many songs to Ma'Gode songs like Aspirine, Diva, Sef, Mbabula and Stephie, musicians of Quartier Latin (Babia, Sam Tshintu and co) would often give her shout-outs in vocals in their songs until Attentat as Maman Rocky. Koffi himself would put her name on in Bercy-cd next to Aliane (Writing "Merci a Steph, Aliane et mes parents). He and Stephie divorced in 2001, she ran away when Koffi went on tour with Quartier Latin (she was apparently fed up with those domestic violence, multiple scandals, apparently he tried to sleep with he daugher of his late broher Didi, being forced to stay at home and apparently locked up while he was spending months abroad in Paris, touring in Africa & Europe). When she left Aliane took automatically the place of Mere Premiere, because she was already around since 1993 after meeting Koffi after finishing the mouring of late Didi (I that's why he named his first child with her Didi).

I don't know who the mother of Elvis is, but that's their private life, we are here for music. Maybe that he's the child of that Rwandian model, where he dedicated the song Miss Tutsi to. Koffi had/has multiple sidechicks.I heard that Elvis lives in Sweden, Zacharie Bababaswe claimed that he became gay and wanted to suicide himself when his boyfriend break up with him, during the beef that they had with Koffi (started to involve their children and Koffi mocking Zacharie's child of being mentally disabled ). The mother of Diego is Rachel Soulam (the girl he sung in the vocal he made in Papa Na Roissy). I don't know what happended with Koffi and his children or their mothers, but since 3/4 years he started saying that he has only 3 children, ignoring Minou and co (I remember Minou writing about it on instagram-stories to be hurt about that).

.

Thank you.

It's just a shame how their personal life couldn't be kept away from the public. A lot of these artists know how to live a private life but just chooses not to handle their personal lives better.

Someone like Wazekwa he always says in interview he's married and has kids but he's not going to name them on live tv. There's no sense to it.

The issue now is that these kids have social media and they see everything concerning their fathers. So since I've joined the Congolese Twitter,  I've seen that a lot of the women there usually discuss Koffi's history of rape and violence and they would even tag didi stone to answer for her father's crimes.

Like everyday I see someone retreating didi stone saying she's not her dad and they should leave her in peace. She's blocked over 300 people for a fact but that Cindy video was the last straw.

Because the person that brought that video to Twitter, even blocked didi stone for the safety of her not seeing the video but people recorded it and showed her and that's why she broke down, and deleted everything with her dad. On Instagram.

Then someone else put a video of Papa Wemba giving a journalist a kiss on the lips when the journalist asked for a kiss but she didn't expect him to turn her face to his lips so he can kiss her lips. People said leave papa wemba alone. The man is resting in peace don't do this.

We are complex people. Twitter is the worst,  because there it's like a hell in a cell match. There's nothing anyone can do but see the extreme of tweets about their personal lives.

So you can imagine like Exauce being on Twitter and then seeing crazy stuff being posted about her dad. At the end of the day, their mental health is being attacked.

It's funny because the video of Cindy and Koffi was posted on Facebook first then Insta and nothing happened. As soon as it came to Twitter, it was like a full bercy concert. Packed with comments and polemique

Only Diego lives in England he lives in South London, I’ve seen him a couple of times, he likes to keep a low profile.

Diego? Ah I give up.

Congolese Music / Re: INNOSS'B - OLANDI (OFFICIAL CLIP)
« on: July 28, 2020, 12:14 »
I like the song. This will grow on people just like yo pe did.

As soon as I heard yo pe, there was something about that song that made me feel like it's decent and at the same time it made me feel like it's more than decent.

I couldn't get the song out of my head after my first listen So I knew from there that this song is gold.

Olandi is good. Some won't like it because they know it's referring to Fally but I'm a melomane.. and this song is good. Really good.

Someone said she's going to team up with Boketshu to stop the concert. Sounding like a marvel film and Koffi is Thor.
