Congolese Music / Re: Werrason - Chasser le Corona (Clip)

Formidable is a very good album. It only came at a very wrong time as its release was shortly followed by COVID 19. I was checking Werras videos with the golden generation, their views are way below Fally or Fabregas video released some weeks and a month ago. I think the old guys have grown out of the hype thing. There is no money in these views or videos. Right now they are more focused on private business while dropping songs once in a while. I personally would not blame them. Music is now just one way of keeping their names going and maintaining connections not that it gives them money.

Parking and Firmidable have over 1 million views each. This is a simple COVID 19 song which Werra has not bothered marketing. Views can be faked, it is no big deal.

Yes that's satellite. Dinara and mwaka also feature in other songs. This is a very good album. The generiques were overplayed before release making them sound so weak. I think Werra needs either Bercy or Ambulance back. Diego and Golbert are too average for such a big group. Jamaique needs serious competition. He has potential and is versatile but he lacks Bercy's energy.

Very good song though it sounds so much like Style  Momberg by Bill Clinton in WMMM. Has Bercy gone solo?

No memorable call...
It feels so much like some old Generiques...
Nothing really catchy...

I think he is good at rhumbas and not generiques. Among the young guys I trust Fabro on Generiques.

I personally like this song. It has high spiritual content. You need to get into the spirit to love it!

I actually see Bercy and Ambulance getting back to WMM. They did their best animations there. It is just a matter of time!

Congolese Music / Chassez Le Corona - Generique

Finally Jamaique and Golbert are building a good rapport using their own voices. They will soon develop into a top notch diet...

Jamaique came up with this and they have been fine tuning it.

The video above was a few weeks ago in Goma. She travels with the band on trips like Oman, Dubai and Kenya. In short she is now part of the key team that involves Werra, Kakol, Bikorino, Hugo Synthe,  Nicol and Jamaique.

She is still very much part of the band. She played Mwinda Generique as lead solo. Shared parking with Bikorino and she played most of the lovely rumbas like best rumba for Golf Kizola. She will also play at Zenith and Olympia this year once coronavirus comes under control.

Congolese Music / WERRA AND FERRE CREATED WMMM
« on: March 09, 2020, 15:49 »
Let me just add my voice to the interesting debate. The idea of WMMM started with Werrason and Ferre way before WMMM was actually formed. It was conceptualized by Werrason and Ferre with some private identification and recruitments made. However at the stage of actualisation it was sold to Dominguez and Masela. So the actual formation of the band was done by Werrason, Masela and Dominguez and it was Dominguez who was very active in its formation as Werra had a habit of pushing others to do the dirty work. The leadership was to be rotation just like the Wenge 4x4 model.

Masela and Dominguez came to realise latter that they were just used and the new boys recruited were used to frustrate and push them out. Ferre latter on came to be the Chief of the group. He literally carried WMMM vocals from day one and did pretty much of the good singing. So when Werrason said this, he meant it and did not mince his words a bit. The worst polemique we have seen in WMMM has been between those people Werrason loved and trusted the most...Ferre, Bill and Herritier.

Things seem much better between Werrason and Ferre at this point than ever before. If this is harnessed we might witness something interesting.

Word has it that the big boys are shaken by Fally's Bercy and we should expect a lot of Ferre recognition from the Wenge boys.....praise and appreciation to launch an interesting brand of competition. Ferre is the same generation as Fally and stands a better chance to dilute his rising popularity.....anyway let's just watch and enjoy!
