Congolese Music / Re: Fally Ipupa Control Album is the bomb!
« on: November 17, 2018, 07:27 »
Hello my good friends,

Glad we are all okay. I think we just have to accept that these guys will never change their music for us, Ferre,Fally,Koffi,JB,Werra et al. For me, when I want proper sebene, I run to Werra and Fabregas, if I want proper rhumba,i run to Ferre,if I want modern rhumba/R&B,I run to Fally and when I want a bit of both, I run to JB despite with JB we have to wait an average of 9 years for an album. These days he's even stopped releasing the annual Primus singles. ????

Do we know more about this new Fally soloist Golet Solo, where was he before joining Fally, on this album he has even outshown Felly Tyson who seems to be getting lazy starting from the album Libre Parcoura where he was just scratching the guitar.

Werrasonique, am in the UK for the next two weeks,I arrived last week, let's link up. I need lots of DVDs from our Congolese barbers in Birmingham for my pub in Zambia so I will be in Birmingham at some point, hope you haven't changed your phone number.

It's an interesting interview, was surprised to learn how Ferre was instrumental in his recruitment and am glad he had a warning to not only Werra about pitting singers against one another, Werra was pitting Ferre against the new Eboa Lotin just like Koffi pitted Fally against Ferre causing unnecessary rivalry that saw the disintegration of Quartier Latin. His remarks on Heritier where interesting hope Heritier follows.

Congolese Music / Fally Ipupa Control Album is the bomb!

Well, it's been on replay for the last few days, am totally satisfied with it. Good rhumba songs and the generiques are not bad either.

I like the new soloist playing on the second generique,Fally mentions his name "Kole Solo or something, he plays like Le Petit kurukuru.

yes he is talented but he is playing a bit of a dangerous game because people especially those who love insisting on the theories that whoever comes from bcbg does nothing good in solo are counting every release, and he has 6 songs or so now
plus he wants to release in december at all costs which is normally the period of elections, not the best period for an unproven solo artist unless  a fantastic generique drives him the way ya mado lifted fabregas when other musicians were starting to be affected by the debut of an era with  strong weekly political focus
Valid points,I agree.

Yes, this is a useless generique, too disorganised but you can't take away the fact that the guy is talented, his first generique was okay and the rhumba singles he's released so far are good, let's wait for his full album, for now he can experiment and learn.

Good to see some new faces in BCBG. Tutu looks settled like he never actually left.

Congolese Music / Re: De Gaule finaly confirm his exit
« on: August 07, 2018, 15:37 »
This is great news indeed. Ferre really appreciates De Gaule,I hope he goes back to Jetset. I gave him advice on a post on Facebook after he hit hard at Ferre in defence of Werra. He contacted me via inbox and we chatted a lot,I told him he was a great artist and should let his leaders and their spokesmen fight whilst he concentrates on impressing fans across the board with his fans as he could end up going back to Ferre or any of Werra's "enemies" and he listened and appreciated my honest advice.

He's only finished when you don't understand music or you only know one type of music!

This is not Congolese rhumba at all, this is in the same class as JB Mpiana's songs Nungu Nungu and Alino Kizaza. These songs may be boring to rhumba and sebene lovers.

Congolese Music / Re: Taddet new generique Nanu Nanu

For me this is decent effort by a new solo artist. It's a combination of the bonioma traditional sebene and closed by modern sebene with fantastic solo guitar licks. The mixing could have been better, the drums are not proper.
Looking forward to the complete album,I know the rhumbas will be okay as he is a good singer.

Congolese Music / Bomb album this is!!!

By Le Parolier Pida Star Frigence who has been composing songs for the likes of Koffi,Fally and others.
There is no song to skip on this album, the guy is an an excellent singer and composer.
