Congolese Music / Re: MUSIC INSTRUMENTS

Most bands use hired equipment hired by the promoter wherever they are touring. Individual musicians especially guitarists tend to carry their own instruments in order to have that originality in sound they produce.

Mukena our own Doudou Copa, will be nice to hear his voice on aongs again.

Our musicians are just too dull i think. At this time when Europeans are telling people not to fear or halt their socialising in fear of terrorists,it is the best time for musicians to engage law enforcement agencies in the EU to deal with combattants who are effectively terrorists. They can be fished out one by one and some deported to their country of origin.

Congolese Music / Re: Rhize has left Ferre's group

Really sad to hear that he has left, maybe his next stop is Maison Mere where there are vacancies.
I have strong feeling the Chef du Orchestre Maty de Gaule  may also leave as he has been left behind on band tours, someone asked him a question and he said "let's go to my messenger" so am sure he is not happy too.

When Ferre sticks to his odemba he is monotonous, when he tries a bit of diversity its crap!!!!
Hahaha, people want Ferre to do whatever Fally does and when he does they say he copies Fally. You just cannot please everyone,am glad he ignores the polemique and does his own thing. This kipelekese song is the bomb, very heavy bass, loving it especially in the car where i have a proper sound machine!!!

I know Ferre particularly likes odemba but in this album,he has really tried to go "astray" a bit albeit with caution and still sounding Congolese. The added advantage is that there are some are some solo songs by some of his musicians, one particular song that is catchy and deep is by Echappe who was previously with Papa Wemba. Ferre's young brother Guy also did very well on his song.

What's with our Congolese brothers and being anti-progress. Does any death or success have to be related to kindoki.

It's even sad that even pastors, gospel artists  are not spared in this polemic.

Fally and Heritier seem to have stepped up their promotion the last few days and after the release of QQJD. It's still gonna sink them, Ferre left no stones unturned. Lol

He is alright but that "ki bo Koffi" is still audible,he is singing other people's parts in his own style and voice but to say better is subjective as to me when he did Olivier's parts he didn't sound like Reddy Amisi or Serge Mabiala who Olivier sounds like.

It's not a typical rhumba or generique, i believe he saw the success of the song Tucheze done with the young Kenyan girl Kimani ,it plays all the time on Trace Tv which is a top channel in Africa so this should be a follow up to it especially when you listen to the subtle and old skool animation by Ferre and Kaludji.
Personally I like it,adds a bit of diversity.

14
remontada is the generique he did with his atalakus(since the two other ones were by genta and fusee) i guess he'll add one rumba or two the way monsoh launched retirada's promo with BM
Oh i see.

Well, i managed to listen to all three volumes and repeated them several times, this album is 3 times better than Boite Noire. There is a bit of variety in arrangement, this time some rhumbas even end with some semi sebene with lead guitar.

Ladies and gents, Ferre Gola does rhumba odemba of Lutumba and if you know Lutumba's style them you should know what to expect from this album and from Ferre,it's either you love him or hate him. There is a great variety of musicians to choose from, for me,am totally satisfied with the album and it will be on repeat for a long time.
If i want sebene,i look to Maison Mere and Patrouille des Stara,if i want tcha tcho,i look to Koffi, if i want diversity of songs,i look to BCBG,if i want modern rhumba,i look to Fally, that does the trick for me.
