Congolese Music / Re: WERRASON TESTING HIS NEW SOLOIST:GUY SOLO

Why everybody hating on Makaba? Can someone give me the full details of his solo? Actual music created by him?

Your opening  gambit about hating on him is wrong but you're asking the right questions........like you I also want to know what he created so I'll wait

I’m sorry but I really do miss Makaba. He’s a lot more creative than these guys. They’re all just playing the notes and there’s no improv

Are you joking or am I missing something?

Makaba was by far the worst Maison Mere guitarist. I liked his ability to mimick others but creatively he didn't do anything. I'm absolutely delighted he is gone and I'm surprised that Werrason  was loyal to him for that long. Tolbert in BCBG is going is taking music that side to another level so Werrason needs a soloist who is able to do the same foe Maison Mere. Thanks Makaba but no thanks.

I was at this concert too.......no it was not a gym he performed in but a Community Hall where other Congolese artists have performed from. I was there before for Werrason's concert in 2003.

Koffi is a vile and despicable sexual predator. His arse should be in prison for crimes committed against women.

Can someone do a translation for us please?

Elliot is a very important person in the history of Wenge.

Does anybody know if Koffi's u arena concert will be live-streamed?

Question is:

will it ever materialise given the circumstances of Werra's?

In UK if you beat up a lady you're toast. Even if she retracts afterwards the courts can summon her to be a witness to her own case under oath. Perjury is punishable by at least 2 years imprisonment so it's always a done deal for prosecution that they will get evidence. Once convicted you go on a register and any woman you get in touch with will be notified of your past. If you're not convicted the police will still keep your details as amber (orange) flags.

Telegram takes more users than WhatsApp and in addition you  an launch it as a channel where you can get a limitless number subscribers. I'd say telegram is a better bet than WhatsApp.

Well done and thank you for working on this forum to bring it back as quickly as you did. This is by far the most thankless job you do but for the love of African music you provide this forum to us free if charge. I want to take time to thank you for all the hard work you do behind the scenes and perhaps you can put a link somewhere so that we can send you some donations or beer tokens via PayPal or something.

Thank you very much for your service to the African music lovers. We appreciate you and everything you do for us. Thank you and the rest of the administration team.

Can anyone share these verbs please instead of just talking about them?

So Wazekwa is a well known classical author famed for his aphorisms and verbs. It appears that this much famed attribute of his intelligence is not celebrated enough but just mentioned in passing.

Can we start to list the proverbs please in Lingala then in English translation?

Mokwa bongo

i dont know what this means but its hard............Magalie alati string
In Shona Zimbabwean language.........magalie is magaro or buttocks in Engish. So the translation is that the buttocks are wearing a string (thong)....

Code: [Select]
Magalie alati jupe ya mokuse
Translated the "buttocks are wearing a small cloth"
