Congolese Music / Re: Inoss B continues with attacking Fally

Afrobeat or AfroCongo might just not be as popular as these artists want it to be. Maybe real congolese music just simply outshines all other types of beats...

Congolese Music / Not quite there
« on: November 06, 2018, 21:13 »
I think it's safe to say Rumba is Fally's bread and butter. I checked out this generique and it just doesn't have it. The solo leading into the generique didn't quite blend with everything else. Lengthy keyboard chords, Identite almost off key and other atalakus missing when he has like 500 of them. Last two minutes was like Power 001 all over again......Basically, a space filler. 5/10

He needs to go back to the Droit Chemin style of generique.

My eyes are hurting from all that color riot...Geez. I'm a die-hard Fally fan but this is really not the best. Who is the soloist? Identite's cri is not catchy since it was already played in Ecole and same for Boussole's. Fally's generiques are one dimensional now.

He probably doesn't mean it the way you think he does. I think he's purely professing his love for his music and his work ethics (maybe).

Congolese Music / Re: Forum Member News: I Got Married Saturday

Congrats! Wishing a blissful union...Now go make them

the music was dubbed over. so no telling if he's really dancing to Wenge 4x4 music. Sorry guys.....not to ruin your hope for Kanye's redemption...

The album was released in 1999. Probably the video was released around the same year. If these ladies are still dancing till now, something is wrong....Most of them are probably grandmas So they're probably married and living a quiet music scene free life....And sorry, I don't know their names...

Congolese Music / One of the best covers of Kalayi Boeing.....

Very good cover. I played it more than once. I love the transition to sebene..the mi solo was on point and Kirikou tried....Vieux Koffi always has something up his sleeve...

Side note: Can we embed facebook videos?

How old is this song? And who is on Solo here? I also assume this was done before the split. And I agree, we need a WMM all-star reunion. Question is will it ever happen?

The song is 15 years old. It comes from the compilation-album "Les tenors 2 l'Afrique" produced by JPS Production. It had artists like Rigo Star, Madilu, Nyboma and Zaiko Langa Langa. It was recorded in 2002 when they were working on the same time for A La Que Leu Leu. The song has Flamme Kapaya on the lead. I think that those songs on that compilation-album were private-songs for donors. Like we heard many rumba's in the late 2000 for the Sassou-family and Congolese football-players or rare-generiques and songs dedicated for football-players like Samuel Eto, Claude Makelele, Rigobert Song, etc. made by Congolese artists.

WMM all-star reunion, will only happen if all former-MM members we be on a good term with Werrason. MM-fans  will first see Ferre Gola & Heritier Wantanabe and maybe also Baby Ndombe kneel down at La Zamba Playa. I don't think that Ferre Gola & Heritier Wantanabe will show up on an event like that and I don't think that Werrason want to perform with them on the same stage. I think that only Bill, Japonais, Adjani, JDT would easily accept that and maybe also Lacoste.

Thanks for the info. That song sounds like new (at least new to me) Too bad ego is always in the way of greatness. Would have been nice to see all of them at least one more time.

Congolese Music / WMMM Instrumentals....NICE!
« on: September 23, 2018, 13:41 »
Nice collection of WMMM tunes. One of the best instrumentals out there. Anyone knows the soloist? Very polished. The drummer also is on point. No breaks. Well coordinated. Nothing like seeing multi-talented musicians at work. Werra should be happy that his work is keeping the music world going

This is one of the few times that Awilo was actually singing....He could easily be considered a showman than a singer. His animations of the 2000s were also nothing like traditional animations a la Bill and co. His name will never die....

I know a lot of us can't tell difference between Asians. I believe those are Japanese. Zaiko Langa Langa and Papa Wemba left something behind when they performed in Japan.

Congolese Music / Re: Give Your Dream Band

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Fela will stop the music just 30 seconds in and say "Does anyone here knows how to play Afro Beat? I no fit use this kind music for my message! I no get love song."

By the way, Fela's Afro Beat was the Original Afro Beat. What they call Afro Beat today is not by Fela's Standard.

The Boss of the band: Fella Anikulapo KUTI.
Drums: Titina Al CAPONE.
Conga’s: Ally MBONDA.
Rhythm Guitar: Lokasa Ya MBONGO and Shaba KAHAMBA.
Solo Guitar: Dally KIMOKO ,Patou SOLO and Flamme KAPAYA
Bass Guitar: Gode LOFOMBO.
Animation: Tutu KALUDJI and Bill KALONJI.
Singers: JB MPIANA, Ferre GOLA, Papa WEMBA, Zuli ZULEMA, Mayaula MAYONI, Franco LUAMBO, Aurlus MABELE and Koffi OLOMIDE.
Dancers: Marcation Francois and Monica CELESTE.

Everyone is a star until another star shows up. Brigade buried Celeo in Sous Sol and I don't think he ever recovered from it. Celeo will always get respect for his animations and I still think FARA FARA was his best animation, but he cannot say he has what it takes to beat Brigade. For one brigade's animations are very catchy and he can do various animations in one generiques, whereas Celeo is very limited and cannot say he's has produced a lot of catchy animation (other than Koyimbiko).

Sorry celeo, accept it. your musical clock has expired.

Side Note: I know has papers to live in Europe why has not done this? He is "le pere des jumaux" which I think he had with an Europe based woman. Anyone know?
