Congolese Music / OCEAN EBELE'S BEST?
« on: November 05, 2017, 09:40 »
This guy was at one point in just about all the congolese songs released in the late 90s and early 2000s. he's very repetitive and not quite creative. But in Zala Cool, he used animations that were never heard before (at least not by me).

What is he up these days? Still involved in music?

Congolese Music / Re: FERRE SETS THE RECORDS STRAIGHT
« on: October 06, 2017, 16:49 »
They can say everything about Ferre but he is right even though he lied about the reasons he avoided Koffi, Koffi always making the snake and then get surprised if Robinio doesn't accept his money or if Ferre doesn't greet him, if you are a Kevin Durant, even though you win a title you will always be a snake

Huh?

Congolese Music / Re: EBOA LOTIN REPETITION
« on: September 27, 2017, 16:01 »
Yea he needed to move on. Even though he may not be as successful  as others because of his age. But you really can never say never. A story is told of the KFC founder who made it in his mid sixties and the rest as they say is history. Courage Eboa courage... Loin de toi one of my favourites from "A la queue leu leu".

ummm......Eboa was not in A la Queue leu leu.....he joined after the fraction

Oh he's finally out of maison mere its about time

Might be a little late. Eboa is either in his late thirties or early forties. His Prime time may be behind him. He should have left long time ago. Now his struggle to make a name for himself begins. Good luck to him though.

Congolese Music / Re: BRIGADE SARBATI NEW GENERIQUE BOKOKO
« on: September 27, 2017, 14:37 »
I don't think Alfred Solo gets a lot of credit for his skills. The guy will beat out a lot of the new generation soloists. Definitely better than Heritier's and Ferre's two main soloists. .On par with with the flammes and the Kibangus...Shikena..

I take it Demon de l'ambiance has left the group? He was not on this one.

Congolese Music / Re: CUISSE de POULET BACK WITH KOFI
« on: September 10, 2017, 10:33 »
The twerk generation has taken over....lol
Koffi used to put his dancers in those tight-fitting clothes that outlined their body/shape (marketing strategy?). So really if you go back and watch the videos, the dances in the 90s and early 2000s is nowhere as competitive as it is today. They didn't have to have an elaborate choreography (other than the Fioti Fioti dancers). Also, the camera is focusing more on their behinds than the dance in general. Go figure.

Congolese Music / Re: Tribute To Flamme
« on: September 10, 2017, 10:23 »
One fact that can't be taken away from him: All modern day congolese soloists want to play like him. Other than Fally and Ferre's solosits, all other soloist sound like Flamme. Kimbangu Solo, Alfred Solo, Arc en Ciel, now Sara Solo, and pretty much any soloist who went to WMMM must play like Flamme.  So yes, he brought something to the table. He has influenced Congo music in the Generiques and Sebene areas.

Congolese Music / ATALAKUS AS ARTISTES
« on: September 01, 2017, 17:33 »
There's always a big difference between artistes and Atalakus turned artistes. Big name artistes know how get players. You can always see it in their works (live or studio). Especially in live shows. Brigade is struggling big time at this FIKIN show. Low quality band members. No Alfred Solo, no decent keyboard player, most instruments were out of tunes....Studio works seem to be where they still shine.   If the name was not Brigade, i doubt there will be folks out there. Sponsors need to come out and support these guys.

I've watched a few videos of WMMM post 7 Jours de la semaine and noticed that SARA Solo is nowhere around. Has she left already? Arc en Ciel chased her away?

Congolese Music / These guys could never be replaced
« on: August 20, 2017, 14:28 »
When you take that trip back in time with Viva La Musica  and realize that Congo had/has immense talent.

Papa Wemba: a style and voice you one could replicate

Alpa Tchino: The atalaku with the most melodious voice of his time. Anyone out there who sounds like him these days?

Thierry Mongratana: Young then but a guitar wizard nonetheless.

The drummer (forgot his name): his style and mastery of the art made him stand out. He was the life of the band.

The Dancers; albeit very young were all good dancers Anya Star was in the back line. Every time the girls were showcasing, you could see they captured the audience's attention in the front. Was it the choreography or bunch of pervs devouring the girls with their hungry eyes?

Who is the second soloist next to Thierry? Short blond hair guy? Anyone know his name or subsequent works?

Congolese Music / HERE YOU GO....
« on: August 12, 2017, 19:51 »
They tried to change the guitar style from the monotonous ones they used to play. Jury is still out on that. Not going to lie I think Bercy is well saturated as an atalaku...nothing new to see or hear.

Fally needs to stop the BS and release something already. Libre Parcours is already two years old. He has like 15 atalakus but releases nothing that showcases all his guys. If I were him, I would be exploring that avenue. People will get tired of waiting and switch allegiance to someone else.

Congolese Music / Re: A LOOK AT KIRIKOU
« on: July 11, 2017, 22:50 »
Guys, I know Robert EKOKOTA should not be in the same sentence with Kirikou. I also know all the Atalakus mentioned above are more qualified than Kirikou. I was just comparing their styles and not their status.
