kimbangu has serious talent and so does Sarah but i fear these types of videos are it for the two of them. i don't think they ever work in a band again, but i could be wrong. maybe session music pays more than being in a band. Is Sarah permanently living in France now?
I don't why Ben Nyamabo never released the CD version of this album he only remixed the songs (Beloti, Alube, and the medley) on the ratissage album and added new songs.
I have the Ratissage CD. Too bad they never released the videos. I've always wondered who were the atalakous on that album (especially the falsetto guy). And the drummer on Ratissage was either Papy Kakol or a duplicate. That album still sounds better than albums released today.
I was just listening to this generique and it hit me how talented Brigade is and how he should still be relevant but he's not. It's been a while since he released anything worth listening to. His last was the QL matchup.
Why couldn't someone of his caliber be picked up or have a successful solo career? It seems most atalakous that go through WMMM slowly just die away and that goes to show you that atalakous are not as valuable in a Congolese band setting as singers. Most singers that leave big bands also fade away and cannot maintain a solo career.
What does it take to turn this around for such folks who leave bands. It seems like you must probably have a second job to survive if you're cut/leave a band. It is lack of drive? no sponsors? polemic with bands that could accept them?
Brandon/Diego/Liboka/Kirikou/Sabalo/Celeo (somewhat)/Lobeso/Tade/ Miel de Son etc...
Bill has been the only one that survived and continuously drop musik even if not the best quality.
Also makes me want to know if you could have a successful generique without an atalakou?
the list will not be complete but off the top of my head without watching again, there is 1 olivier tshimanga 2 do akongo 3 eddy mabungu 4 musikasika 5 kimbangu solo 6 pitshou concorde 7 patient kusangila 8 ade lokela
Please @archo, indulge me, who did Olivier Tshimanga play for. I liked how he "atalaku'd" a whole generique with his guitare.
man....this should be archived for prosperity sake. 50 of the Congolese music heartbeat in the same room and no Polemic.....Please list the names if you know them.
Now if we could have the Atalakus do the same.....
