A popular Kin street song from 2015, but it just made a big comeback because of the popular new theatre series by the same name with the biggest actors - Modero "Mokonzi ya fufu ;D, Vue de Loin, Maman Kalunga et Maman Moseka.

Another kuluna (street guys) anthem... literally on the same level as the Ivorian DJs the forum complains about. If the lyrics were translated into English, it's rambling about nothing, then saying big bottom as the hook/chorus. The lowest it gets for Congolese made music

I see where some our big, respected leaders get direct inspiration for the their current use of dancers  ;D ;D

Had to upload it myself since Héritier doesn't officially film repetitions

And she has a full band already. Good luck to her... her singing skills are, um....

She got herself a Clinton-esque falsetto atalakou

My friend is close to Francis Dibaya, so he sent pics. Tried looking looking on YouTube for footage, but no footage was taken

Sanction was about impact, Viagra was about maturity. Perfect sound. Then after Sam's ego ruined the group's fate

Suzuki:

I get Wenge Makaba-esque vibes from this rhumba:

Honestly, any of the songs expect for the two folklore songs could be chosen.

They've been close friends for decades. Always nice to see Djuna Djanana enjoying life

Meanwhile, Fabregas spent some time with his biggest role model, Maître Gims:

It's abandoned and in a state of dispair - mawa vraiment. It was by far the largest and most grand house of all the leaders.

He was so proud out it and put so much time and energy into building it 12-13 years ago. In the end of the massive polemic between the Florence and the Emeneya family nobody maintained it.

Ferre was just a featured artist so I'm not putting blame on him. Worst song from the otherwise excellent Black Bazar series

Congolese Music / GÉNÉRIQUES YA BA SAPEURS/GENTLEMENS

My favorite générique clip ever because it captures Matonge perfectly (the spider dance):

Papa Wemba was the artist who started the modern folklore générique trend in the mid-2000s with rhythmist, Costa Pinto dominating.

His lineup was my favorite:
Atalakous: Biscuit Des Ecoliers "le beau animateur", Bob Djamousket "Ambassadeur de l'ambiance", CPP "Aminateur-Pasteur"
Guitarists: Solo - Dady Bola / Rhythm- Costa Pinto  "Le Roi de Tshagunga"/ Accompa - Zamba
Bass: Tosha Mfulakanda “Le Bassist des Bassists”
Drums: Daddy Peufa
Mbonda: Likayabu Mbonda
Synthe: Ceda Cedric

Man, the mabanga Wemba gave to all his colleagues in song would make you think they never had conflicts “Moto oyo ba ko ka measuré ye te, oza grand frère propre... ya Koffi Olomide… Le Grande Mopao” (Nzungu na kifinuku).
