Is it me or are Didier & Seguin are looking more and more alike?

lol, the way he chases way his singers chatting in the background (2:20). I find it hilarious that he's convinced himself that he's a big, powerful leader

678
Who the hell really thought 50 Cent would actually agree to outdoor concerts in Lumbumbashi and Kinshasa?

JB Mpiana "le seigneur de liqiuide" ;D

(2:33) "a linga, a linga te.. ako mata Mpunda!" Wether you love it or don't love it, you will climb the Mpunda (horse)

Fally is being invited to a gala dinner again by the Prince of Monaco. lol man, he's getting everybody to assist with promoting his album

The album is still not availble in the U.S, smh. Someone needs to tell Manon Loubaki or someone on his team

Pourquoi pas... pourquoi pas  ;D Reminds me of old Mobutu interviews

Man, the comments section is cancerous.

The combattant situation has really angered him like his colleagues. He refused watch the clips of the actions last week. "Buzoba nde te"  :D

The Quartier Latin album is being recorded now. lol, Koffi remains the one artist who can completely control an entire interview, doesn't matter who the journalist is.

Seems like he's implying that the case against him is fruitless, but has been in no rush to return

Predominantly Luciana Demingongo and Dindo Yogo (RIP) with Wemba, Gloria, and Djuna Djanana. Vieux M'zeé Papa Wemba (RIP) as the featured artist.

Exceptional album Ziggy is. I don't think I can think a better guitarist lineup:
(Solo) Rigo Star, (Rhythm) Sec Bidens, (Mi-solo) Caen Madoka, as well as Maïka Munan
Bassist: Miguel Yamba
Mavungu na Mbonda
Synthes: Philippe Guez
Drums: Komba

Congolese Music / MARC TABU ON FERRE'S PAYROLL NOW?
« on: July 22, 2017, 03:04 »
Almost didn't recognize Marc at first; he got so much bigger. Posted to Ferre's official channel:

I guess it's lucrative for him since the music journalism scene is a bit dead in Europe. Now it's Ado Yuhe as the impartial one.

haha, Werrason will have tested at least 1000 singers at La Zamba by the time he retires. Most of them some sort of doppelgängers of his orginal MM dream team

Bismack is as down to earth as they come and he's giving the youth in Lumbumbashi lots of opportunity through his basketball programs

Congolese Music / LOL, ZACHARIE BABABASWE GOT MARRIED AGAIN
« on: July 20, 2017, 21:56 »
I've lost count now  ;D

The former captaine de la presse Congolaise turned deputy

.....And Editions N'diaye and another Ivorian label (probably more) all at the same time in the late 90's. This was when he was putting at least 4 albums a year. Clearly it didn't work out in the end, causing way too many conflicts of interest, but he put out lots of great albums.

Pretty crazy now that I really think of it. That's like Fally being signed to both Sony and Warner

All released within a year (1999-2000) switching producers

^Always thought Theo Mbala was animating while sleepy on 100ans. Not his best performance

And an album with his mentor, the great Jeanpy Wable Gypson

And there was another album with Suke Chile, which is not online

686
He has vocals in Masuwa (3:44-)

I was never a fan of the guy, as he always exuded a weird vibe to me. These strongly backed allegations make his prior allegations from years ago look weak.

Incredibly messed up. Fally needs to stop idolizing the guy

Congolese Music / FALLY'S RHUMBA ALBUM IS FULLY COMPLETE
« on: July 17, 2017, 00:10 »
Says he'll never stray away from his roots

lol, it sounds like the host read our thread "Let's discuss Fally" when he asked what Fally has to say to traditionalists who want rhumba. He says first and foremost he's a lingala-ophone, and it doesn't matter that he's signed to a French label. Rhumba is what he knows best

He gaves a big shout out to Koffi for being the first to give rhumba international appeal. He say every present artist, whether they know or not, uses a variation to Tcha Tcho in their rhumbas.

Second, he gives a shout out Simaro Lutumba for being a founding father of rhumba as we know it today

Congolese Music / A WORD ABOUT DAVID MONSOH & OLYMPIA
« on: July 16, 2017, 03:38 »
Usually I'm not particularly a fan of the man, but one has to credit where credit is due. For months, not only did he try to make the concert happen, but he tried to make things go very smoothly for Heritier and Team Wata. Paying for their plane tickets, lodging, and travel to practice venues.

He got legal backing and was even negotiating with head combattants way in advance, willing to pay them off to keep quiet. It wasn't until the very last moments, when they starting burning the car and threatening to throw stones, etc. that the Olympia administration gave in and cancelled the show.

This was the moment the concert was cancelled. You can see his anxiousness and frustration:
