Way back when Sankara did his infamous "interview" of football legends, my cousin told me that he was the perfect embodiment of stereotypical Congolese. Still true today - he's still just as cringeworthy  ;D

If DRC wins this Friday against CIV, he will become Congolese. If CIV wins, all of them will have to dance Ndombolo for Ivorians

lol, surely none of them agreed to any these terms  ;D

Says the man whose musical upbringing was influenced very heavily by Congolese music

Congolese Music / A PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED SONG FROM KOFFI

A song he did not release himself to be specific, until now. A composition of pianist, Afo Monga. From his album released in late 1989-90, which album name escapes me (the album was a very limited release).

Koffi sung with such emotion during this period

Acoustic quality is fantastic, combine that with timeless acoustic guitars  - it sounds fresh 28 years later. Recorded in Studio RGR, a top Parisian studio then.

Honestly, I’d be happy if Koffi continues to release the many unreleased songs he has in his arsenal - it’ll offset the recent releases..

Congolese Music / KOFFI WATCHING A PARODY OF HIMSELF

(7:00-) Haha, you can sense a slight bit of embarrassment in his reaction because of stereotypes he's created for himself

The skit itself is ok

When the interviewer mentions Fally and being comparable or an heir to him, he states no.  If he sees himself as being comparable and an heir to someone .. it would Papa Wemba. However, he commends Fally for defending and bringing honor to colors of the flag.

« Je n'ai le  voir pas dans cette lignée là » - "I dont see him in this lineage"

He's getting big headed even quicker than Fabregas (technically he's always been ;D)

(12:20-) Rather interesting that Cameroon national news has a French speaking anchor and an English speaker anchor. Koffi expresses himself well in both languages

Nyataquance originally planned for Dec. 30 will be released March 8th

Songs announced:
Boss Générique
Hommage à Papa Charles
Forgive me Mama

(Second générique)

Congolese Music / DRUMMING COMPARISON - PÈRE ET FILS
« on: January 11, 2017, 07:50 »
Affaire d'État is one of those albums where I don’t care what anyone has to say, it’s a masterpiece from start to finish - and it gets better with age. (No Touchling  ;D)

There’s much more depth in Titina’s drumming, every part of the drum set is used throughout. I'm no percussion expert, but I think we can all detect the greater attention to detail. It’s not meant slight understudy Cambodge, who rose to notoriety very rapidly because of natural skill, high energy, and quick learning capabilities.

Titina “Grande Cadre”

Cambodge Motul “Machine Madaga”

Presently, I think Cambodge has sort of taken the baton, de facto, from Titina, as he’s arguably the best active drummer. Titina will always be on his own level when comes to skill.

I remember telling a friend that it was Cambodge on drums on certain songs and he was surprised - he thought it was Titina who did all the drumming.

Congolese Music / HAHA, MM LE MAXIMUM
« on: January 10, 2017, 05:13 »
Although, it's a statement that's been said a billion times on social media - "black don't crack"

Werra, Le Karmpa, Wazekwa, and most of the 5th gen look also much younger than they actually are. A big change from OK Jazz and Afrisa days when everyone looked at least 45

Congolese Music / BOURO MPELA LIVE (PLAYBACK) IN USA
« on: January 08, 2017, 17:31 »
Although it'll be a playback, this is his first solo event abroad in a longtime. Scheduled for tonight in Arizona

He just needs to keep the momentum by releasing more new music

Instead of encouraging people to take a challenge, it's all about finding something to use against them to bring them down

Taking the piss with the subtitles
