I always forget apocalypse was with manda

Did you know Acide Wazambi was also with Manda? Mopao commandeered his atalakou ship

Bamundele! Of all the great guitarists/instrumentalists, I think he was the most sought after by artists

And also arrangeur extraordinaire. He always got a perfect sound ahead of it's time

This is a good generique. Manda Chante is making a new album or not? If So, I hope he includes Apocalypse in the animations. He is pretty good as an animator.

New album, yes, but not due for a year or two. Apocalypse... nowadays there are plenty of better atalakous for Manda to choose from, he progressively lost his way when he went falsetto.

Apocalypse's best atalakou performance when he was still a creative tenor

The sound is perfect

Congolese Music / Re: ARE THE RUMORS OF JB'S NEW GIRLFRIEND TRUE?
« on: September 14, 2017, 22:14 »
I have seen another woman on Snapchat called Daisy Simonini which us pregnant what us the relationship between her and JB

I recognize that name. I believe her father is an old school donor from Belgium, which is probably why she knows JB.

That JB and Florence Emeneya are a couple now. Seems like every outlet is putting out clickbait, 30 min videos saying they are.

I mean she has every right to move on after the passing on King Kester (RIP), but another big artist? Wasn't the "home wrecker" polemic she had to deal with for years enough

Indeed!!

I rememebr his dance Helicopter!!!

You have evoked memories of this man. I will dig up the old compact Tape, dust it an dplay it on auto reverse for my trip upcountry this weekend.

whateever happened to Mbuta and his team?
Are they still playing or di they break up ( Like most groups when the money kicks in... )

Thanks Man.

He signed the worst record deal of all time, which prevented him from releasing an album for over a decade. Probably didn't read the fine print.

He released a comback album a few years back Carnival "Evidi Badi" or Everybody  ;D. Really great album with lots of remixes for his popular songs, including my favorite Grace à dieu

He has a band again, and performs regularly in various Kin neighborhood and East Africa. Nowadays he doesn't need a fake pillow belly  ;D.

lol, their situation/scenario reminds me of Djuna Mumbafu's & Empire Bakuba’s famous animation for some reason:

"Eza bolingo,
eloko mosusu te,
Eza bolingo,
tolobana tchaku te.
Tshakou songi-songi...
tshakou a fulana bato,
ah malembe, ah malembe,
ah malembe, ah malembe,
tshakou songi-songi...
Tshakou a fulana bato
tshakou songi,
ah malembe, ah malembe
ah malembe, ah malembe"

Those saying we did not discuss the Kapaya song featuring Bill,Celeo, Werra,Eboa and others, maybe you were not members of this  forum. We discussed that track which archos has rightly stated as what was meant to be Kapaya's song on the album Temps Present hence the difference in sound quality too.

We overwhelmingly concluded it was a cut and paste job where one half was recorded first and the second half later.
??? Why? Ye the mix between Werrason & Wenge and Bill and Celeo wasn't the best but the concept and the idea of reuniting all the Wenge is great

Yea, sometimes when you get too critical about a song and production it takes the pleasure away. I just enjoy it for what it is - the closest thing to a Wenge MM legends reunion this decade.

Le comédien le plus suspect  ;D

He and his band were performing in every neighborhood of Kin mostly for free as most were suffering from the effects of war. Powerful génériques and great lyrics from Mbuta himself

Congolese Music / Re: JUDGE ROGA ROGA RHUMBA MIX FOR YOURSELF
« on: September 13, 2017, 06:25 »
Sounds like i am  listening to the same  song ...

Lol, right? That's why I don't really listen to these Brazza dons 2007-on, all their génériques and rhumbas sound the same - same flat monotony. I can't listen to Roga Roga's very mediocre singing voice with the exception of Polémique Generale from Trop c'est trop.

Right now only Doudou Copa is providing variety and interesting rhumba from Brazza.
